Imagine if one of the teams could land the brothers. It would be something with their skill level. Buffalo is doing the right thing, let him get some time in the 'A' and come back when he is ready.

Bad ahl teams have ruined many young pros careers not because they aren't good enough

Alex nylander will be a nhler no matter I'm just saying that it's hard to produce without good players

What am I missing? 13 points in 18 games is a lesser pace than 32 points in 37 games. .72 < .86

He does have 8 points in the last 8 games - indicating adjustment to the pro game. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get up to William's pace or surpass it.

Alex is also coming out of junior, while William already had about 20 games of experience playing against men in Sweden.

Though a good chunk of Alex's points this year have come via the powerplay. I have no idea how he's actually playing, cause I don't watch Amerks games.

He's starting to heat up, nice to see!

Btw Willy has total of 98 games played against men (Allsvenskan and SHL) while Alex has 7 (Allsvenskan).

Yup, I was only considering games against the top competition in Sweden. But you are right, Allsvenskan is also a men's league, so William had considerable pro experience before going into the AHL.

If Alex turns out to be as good as his brother, I'll be a happy camper.

I would wager that the younger Nylander is in on a higher % of his team's O with the Amerks than older Nylander was with the Marlies. I love both players, I'm just saying that the Amerks don't seems to score much at all.

Also, he's going to the WJCs but then he should go back down to the AHL for the rest of the season until the final 10 or 15 games (*maybe). Don't rush him in the least.

Check William's stats after his 5ish game adjustment to the AHL.... hint hint PPG+

Good on him.

Would have been dumb to send him back to the OHL (such a stupid rule for players not drafted out of USHL/NCAA/Europe).

He should crush the WJC.

Shout out to the cool leafs fans hoping for him to do well like his brother. I look forward to seeing him and Asplund at the WJC

Yeah, I am probably the definition of a "leaf hater" but I just can't hate Willy. It would be incredible for Alex to follow or come close to his development path. They're awesome and they make me smile.

Don't think he has dominated despite his respectable point totals (he's been good, don't get me wrong), but he's really good at stepping up when it matters. I think he can be somewhat invisible at times offensively, but suddenly he will make a great play and either score a goal or set up a goal. And i consider that a great trait, i think he's a clutch player. Made a great play on the 1st goal and the finish on his goal is just class.

Now this game obviously didn't mean TOO much for Sweden, this isn't the elimination rounds, but this isn't the 1st time i've seen it.

Not a lot of talk around Alex but he is tearing it up at the WJC, first in points with 11 in 5 games, first in plus/minus with +10.

Wouldn't be surprise if he's playing top6 minutes with the Sabres next year!

Ya its crazy how little he gets talked about

Heck ill even admit he flies under my prospect radar for some reason too and i am unsure why

Been great so far. Hasn't necessarily been flashy but he's made a lot of small, nifty plays that leads to goals and that's why he is the leading scorer right now.

I'm glad you posted this. He has, just a smart intelligent player that shares the puck extremely well. He has been a catalyst for Sweden.
