You’ve listed players ranging from 5’8-6’0.

All of them are 5'8 to 5'10, other than Samoskevich who is 5'11. Given Kisakov is 5'10, seems like a reasonable comparison range for smaller skilled forwards. Not sure your point.

Koivunen is 6’0. And I don’t think Stankoven is 5’8. I think he’s a few inches shorter than that. Likely the same size as Caufield.

For a player who was 2nd by 1 point in MHL scoring as a 18 year old he is slumping big time.

Sabres are stacked. now with another 16thOA coming their way, going to be tough for a small forward to crack roster.

Not like he had much choice anyway: he wasn't given much opportunities in Dynamo and there were no signs that would change next season, so signing was kind of a logical choice (also considering that the opportunities in Europe are a bit limited for Russians now).

true true. do we know if hes gained any weight since being drafted? coming over to NA and seeing the physical play should do him good. he has all the skill in the world.

Like Caser said, he is pretty much out of options. I also think he has no illusions about cracking the Sabres roster, he is looking to do well in the ECHL initially.

Officially he is still listed at 150 lbs, but it's not like it gets updated every time he steps on the scale. I kind of never thought of him as being too weak though, I think he just has the type of body with some muscles (and therefore athleticism too), but rather low fat percentage. I'm more worried about the potential MHL-to-AHL transition as such in terms of game style and speed, as indeed he might end up in the ECHL.

There was some lengthy discussion on him on the Sabres board. He’s supposedly still pretty slender. Maybe part of the reason the organization wants to bring him across the pond. They can control his workouts better if he’s over here.

Good for both.

I can see him spending the next 3 years in the minors. That's not a knock, just think he'll take some time with his physical development.

Hopefully he did put on some weight, he's gonna get killed in the A if he doesn't.

Did he destroy MHL in the last season? Yeah, he didn't. Not a single goal in the playoffs as well. So of course they don't see him as a potential KHLer right now. He could try to make the team via VHL, but he prefered NA minor leagues. His problems. How many Russian players succeded by taking this way? I don't remember a single name.
