Did he destroy MHL in the last season? Yeah, he didn't. Not a single goal in the playoffs as well. So of course they don't see him as a potential KHLer right now. He could try to make the team via VHL, but he prefered NA minor leagues. His problems. How many Russian players succeded by taking this way? I don't remember a single name.
The thing is his signing bonuses alone are 92k. Plus 75k minors salary. So that's ~160k guaranteed. That's a solid KHL salary, he would be lucky to get half that in the VHL. It's not as small of a deal for a young adult as it's sometimes made out to be.

It's KHL salary for 4th liners, and not very solid 4th liners. But yeah, he won't get money like this in the VHL.

Btw as far as I understand, it's AHL money, and I doubt he will make AHL.

Yeah but guy straight from the MHL is nothing more than a not very solid 4th liner. And really it only applies to the rich teams, it's basically a 3rd liner's salary on Amur and such, the teams where players like this get any minutes.

It's minors salary meaning it doesn't matter if it's AHL or ECHL.

As far as I understand, you get better money in McDonalds than ECHL, am I wrong?

Hopefully he did put on some weight, he's gonna get killed in the A if he doesn't.
For example Panarin is only about 15 lbs heavier, so it's not always about the weight.

Dynamo's VHL affiliation is a total joke and doesn't help prospects almost like at all (with Machulin being the only exception).

His line (most often with fellow rookies Kozak and Cederqvist) is surprisingly good at establishing cycle and generating chances. He was hurt for a few games, not sure what it was since teams don't really reveal much these days.

5+2 after 31 games... Well, you can say of course it's his first season in NA league, cultural shock and everything, but still his stats don't look that great to put it mildly. Especially if we compare them to younger kids like Grebyonking or Ilya Fedotov...

He's still listed at 160 and just turned 20, so I think he's probably still got some growing to do. I've seen the skills. I'm not ready to completely write him off yet.

Yeah, he's made the AHL, but is 5+2 after 43 games right now, not great numbers... Will probably play in the VHL in a year or two.

On the other side Glotov had about the same numbers, was sent to ECHL and then released by Buffalo, and now he's PPG in the khl playoffs...

Glotov never scored a goal in the AHL and was a full year older when he turned pro than Kisakov is now. There might be more there than a VHLer.

You mentioned Glotov and I was surprised to see that he's still listed on the Sabres' reserve list.

Many times, KHL players remain on the protected lists indefinitely because the rights don't expire but he did have a pretty good playoffs for SKA; though he never stuck in the AHL when he was younger.

Anything to see?

As far as I understand he's a very smart player so it starts to pay out. But I can admit I don't follow him closely.

A draft analytics darling gone wrong, or do the Buffalo Sabres fans think he can make the team one day?

Just stat watching him because I heard good things about him from the analytics crowd during the draft.
