Would not consider the Alienware monitor something I would go for a 4k hard copy lets see how it looks. For me Alienware solely gaming and browser whatever.

Sucks that you are encounrting burn in based on your usage. Honestly don't know what to say since my usage I guess is so different. Not being protective of either the lg oled or the alienware qoled..

The beauty is that there's all kinds of great panels out there these days, so if there's something that bugs you, there's something else that might suit. That Alienware was the best thing out when it came out and was really ahead of the curve. Now, the market is a lot more diffuse and there's plenty of good options.

Liking the Odyssey Neo G8 so far for gaming and browsing and movies. Really like the brightness. I just edited photos for an hour and it's very good for that as well.

It does have an aggressive 1000R curve as opposed to the Alienware AW3423DW's 1800R curve. That might not be for everyone.

I'm giving this one a go this weekend. Reviews say it hits most of the marks you'd want; here's hoping. Installing now.
OK, now I've really got to go to bed, but the Indy game is pretty great so far. Feels like you're in an Indy game. Music is aces. Very nice graphics, though I'm not sure they added the ray tracing to the early access period. I think there's a RT patch due Monday. Water effects, motion blur, grain, HDR, DLSS frame generation. New nVidia drivers for this game are out as of yesterday. Got my monitor's firmware updated. No scanlines in gaming or otherwise that I can see.

EDIT: They went ahead and patched the RT settings into the game on Sunday.

I think I have the 400 true black setting on my Alienware monitor do you use that seeting also?

Also turning on HDR in Windows is sort of a weird like it gets too dark so I generally don't have it turned on.

Yes, I have it set to 400 true black as well. HDR is set to off in windows too.

Damn was wondering not too long ago when they would make another one.
They just started the devloppment :( Expect witcher4 in 2027 probably. Ciri looks cool, maybe slightly different even if you consider the age, but still badass. I hope they will polish her looks even more when game is out.

Also the Illuminate faction just dropped last night in Helldivers 2. In game footage IQ is not representative of the games is way better.

oh that's interesting enough to merit a return.

New faction, city maps, and vehicles are all things I haven't touched yet.

Played against the Illuminate today for the first time. It was a lot of fun but almost felt like I was playing a different game.

Maybe I'm going off the deep end but I'm enjoying Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown FAR more
than Breath of the Wild on my brand new Nintendo Switch. BOTW is not bad game, to be sure, but
calling it "groundbreaking" and a "masterpiece"...I dunno, I'm just not seeing it. I've been bored to tears
in some stretches.

Prince of Persia OTOH is absolute blast. Glorious graphics and ferocious combat -- total adrenaline rush.

EDIT: Day 2 of playing BOTW. I take everything back I said about that game. Its a slow burn, thats all.
The game is starting to reveal its immense size and unique personality to me. I'm really starting to enjoy it.

Can't believe I got this Switch for $250. Ranking as one of the best purchases I've made in the last decade.
I'm getting a Valve Steam Deck next -- these portable machines are truly wonders.

On the topic of portables, I am saving up to get me something that will allow me to play Baldurs Gate 3 (and maybe also

Diablo 4 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard).

I am wondering if I should get a full fledged gaming laptop, OR if I should shoot for a high end Steam Deck.

Have any of you ever used a Steam Deck before?

My head says I should go for the laptop, but I am pretty smitten with my Nintendo Switch atm, and the Steam Deck looks like

and even cooler, beefier, PC version of the Switch.

But I will go for whatever is optimal for playing the three games that I listed.

My neighbor is a huge gamer and swears by the Steam Deck(and the PlayStation Portal). I’ve messed around on it a few times and it seems cool but not exactly my cup of tea. I like bigger, more immersive screens. I’m not really interested in playing it from my bed or anything where convenience is a big priority. He brings his on family vacations too which does seem cool but I think my wife would murder me if I brought a gaming system on a trip with the kids.

It’s a cool piece of equipment and I’m probably selling it short but I’m set in my ways and I like sitting in front of a big TV using a controller.

I love my Steam Deck but want something a little more powerful.

I'm waiting for now to see what the specs on the next gen Deck look like. If they're not amazing I could switch to the portable ROG.

I got PS VR2 for my son for Christmas. Didn’t have a chance to play with it too much because of family stuff but we had a really good time playing Drum Hero for a bit. Send any game recommendations my way please!

Totally got this for my eight-year-old son and not for me.
