Lol! PbP guy for NHL network said “this loss” for the Americans then amended to “this game”

Great idea Caufield, pull the puck between your legs, on a 3-on-2, and take a backhand shot from the goal line with a guy on top of you

The Russians sure are "cocky" with the puck - I can't think of another word.

A lot of short risky passes without fear.

I noticed that too. The focus is on the puck possession in the D zone and not being afraid for a risky pass. Quite a difference from the Bragin's physicals teams with the dump and chase metality

To me, Semin was great. An underachiever, considering his talent. Definitely had an elite shot. Kharlamov, Mikhailov, Makarov were beyond great, in the legendary territory. Krutov was a lefty.
I would take Kovalev..

Whoever that Yankee was crossing the trolley tracks better keep his head up next time. Could have been disastrous.

I meant nothing with my comment. It just came to mind when someone mentioned Lindros being 6'4". One time I was talking to my friend about Lindros and I mentioned that he was tall - 6'4" or more. She said there is NO way he is 6'4". I asked if she was sure. She said yes. How could I argue? She knows him and I don't.

No offence taken. I agree, how can you argue.

Faust is annoying...he called the middle frame(2nd) period the sandwich period...really SU Faust you aren't the best thing since sliced F...ing bread

What a pass by Groshev... 2-1 after pressure from the US... but that counter attack.. boom

They’ll have wingers fly the zone and will continuously loop in the neutral zone or attack full flight ahead on the counter attack. Their counter attack will be deadly all tournament.

You can see why winger is a much more valuable position in Russian hockey under this type of system compared to NA hockey where centres and strong skating D men are the most highly coveted players.

That’s a tough miss for Brink and an amazing pass to go back the other way and bury it.

What an amazing pace & intensity ramping up this period. This is some really impressive hockey being played. Hopefully it pulls the rest of the top dogs into the game.

Two players of equal ability always take the size. I remember an open line caller saying that Theoren Fleury could do everything that Eric Lindros could. The open line guest was a former NHL player and said to the caller, "you have it the wrong way around" Lindros is 6' 4" 230 lbs and can do everything Fleury can. Just sayin'

Lol that's just stupid. Prime Lindros >>>> prime Fleury.
