I wonder what the add would be to get Buchnevich

Kassian, Khaira and 1st for Buchnevich and Georgiev, maybe a big dream.

its an interesting time in New York with the rangers. Are they really implementing a policy of compete now, the rebuild is over and that’s why the upper level management was let go? Or were they let go for the statement they made about the league and that was an excuse and they’re still willing to part with players like buch. From what I’ve gathered, there fans really value him and view him as part of the solution and if management is trying to compete they won’t move him but will instead resign him and move him later if the cap requires it. In this scenario no way they move him for futures/with kassian as a base. If they will take futures I’d be all over it, buch is legit. Got lots of time for Georgie too

I'd prefer Ullmark in all honesty. Kassian probably has a little value on the open market. There's no reason to get locked into a goalie if you want to get rid of Kassian's cap hit.
You could get both and let them challenge each other for the #1 job.

Just realized something.. since Klefbom is out, we’d need a #4 LHD if we hadn’t got Keith. All of those LHD in free agency would be asking for 6-7 years 5-6 mill anyway… maybe even more since it’s Edmonton.

we got Keith for 5.5 for 2 years.

still not happy with not retaining. But, I feel better about it now
Maybe Suter or Ekholm but players like Murray and Oleksiak will not. Even a trade for another LHD at less than 5.5 million. So many options this offseason that didn't need to include Jones, a pick or 5.5mil on salary.

He's just below the line for me. He didn't win any championships.

Hall of Fame should be for the elite of the elite, not the guys who had a pretty good career.
That's kind of unfair for a team sport. So in your mind a guy like Maroon has a better shot cause he has 3 cup rings?

I like Smith coming back at a certain cost for one year over being stuck to a goalie for three seasons who possesses similar traits to the goaltender were potentially buying out.

Give me Ullmark for 2-4 years, Smith for 1 and move on.

Kassian either clears cap getting flipped for a pick, gets taken by Seattle or he sticks around for another season. Not really dead set in any direction with him at the moment.

My Landeskog dream is still alive.

Well I really hope they lose him, because they are a power house team with him in the lineup. Zero chance we get him though, as he'll be asking for $7+ for sure, and potentially $8+. We can't come close to affording that. If we had some more cap space, I dunno, maybe like $5.5 M over the next 2 years, we could have maybe taken a run at him.

That's fair. I mean is his favor he has the 2nd fewest games played to 330+ wins all-time (Quick with 666gms & 336 wins)

Again, Keith costs $5.5, not $15.5, they can EASILY take a run at him.

Any news about whether we will be buying out Koskinen/Neal or does Holland still think we have a ton of cap space?
