Not sure if mentioned, but Rinne retired. In his prime, he was pretty damn good. Always was a fan of his.
The main story on TSN.ca right now is who the Leafs should expose in the Expansion Draft and not the retirement of a former Vezina winner. I guess TSN was a little ticked that Keith/Oilers were the top thing yesterday and wanted to get things back to normal today. :sarcasm:

They really aren't. Kassian only shows up when he's playing with McDavid. Archibald types are a dime a dozen.
That's your opinion .. other than that bad penalty Archibald had a great season. 200 hits many of which were crushing, excellent on PK and scored some EN goals at the death.

Archi was one of our most consistent forwards in playoffs. Probably 2nd after McDavid.

Kassian can also do damage from bottom 6. Both are fine in bottom 6 roles but Kassians high salary may make him exposed for Seattle.

Honestly, 369 wins, 60 shutouts, Vezina trophy, I would call Rinne a HHOF imo.

On another note...

Assuming Larsson doesn't end up resigning. What would Oil fans think of bringing in David Savard? For the right cap hit I think he would be a nice addition.

Also Benson most likely gone
all it takes for us to basically hand Seattle nothing is to have an agreement in place with Larsson to re-sign.

I'd hope that the org has priority on Benson, just like Holland didn't to listen on trading McLeod. We are too weak at forward in our prospect pool. We can't let Seattle take Benson just as he finally looks like he took a step forward.

Just no. Not happening. The org would rather risk Larsson walks than allow that. Jones was expendable because our D is already very young, and we have a LHD of the future in Broberg, and have Lagesson and Samorukov as well.

Or just protect Benson and expose Kass.

I didn’t watch the Holland presser till today... couldn’t handle it yesterday. What an incompetent manager

“What did you want me to do? Make a better trade”... YES. FOR f***S SAKE

Holland couldn’t adjust to a cap world. Got lucky with stacked Wings teams and destroyed that franchise. And we thought “that’s our man”.
He was on the defensive but it was a poorly worded question. DNB needs to cut to the chase and ask 'Could you have gotten a better cap number?' And Holland would've said 'No.'

It was essentially a repeat of Gregor's question.

My question is what the necessity of making a deal prior to the ED was. Clearly the market isn't going to be a traditional one with so many teams looking to move on from a number of bad contracts attached to productive players.

But overall Holland has a good sense of how the markets work. He knows that if you go to free agency, you're going to be overpaying in one way or the other for a what's likely to be a very limited player.

There is difference in between being critical and outright derogatory and insulting to both the fans and the team. Trying to spin your
"critical" as excuse to defame, insult, bully, and down right verbal abuse others as normal is definitely a problem and definitely should be outed.

Some of you need some serious therapy if you think that should be normal standard to any community.

RNH - McDavid - Pulju
Tatar - Draisaitl - Yamamoto
Benson - Glendening - Archibald
Shore - McLeod - Kassian

Nurse - Bear
Keith - Larsson
Russell - Bouchard

Driedger
Smith

In the most important off-season I can remember for this team this is what I’m expecting we end up with.
If this is what we end up with, I won't follow the team anymore. It's been said from day one if we go into the season with Bear on the top pair we have failed Connor and Leon.

I hope Kenny has more up his sleeve than this but the trade yesterday and Larsson testing FA has made me question his ability and/or urgency
