I seriously wonder how much you pay him? Idiots if they pay the guy anywhere even close to Quinn Hughes money and I don't care that his deal is older lol
Quinn Hughes not being bridged does reduce the cap hit though. 7.9 aav for Hughes is underpaid. Hughes will be making 16 million in 4 years when his deal is up and the cap is 106 million or whatever

Hughes is their MVP and will make double for sure.

I bet he joins his brothers in NJ though

That is a very deep forward group, but very soft in the bottom 6.
I mean Podkolzin/Kane/Arvidsson/Kapanen could easily be in the bottom-6 instead of Skinner and Nuge (especially if Janmark can play C long-term like he did tonight and for a stretch last year), and that would help, but I tend to agree.

I’m laughing at people concerned about what the Canucks are doing. Of course they’re desperate to get a D-man, their blue line is a forward and 5 bottom pair guys.

Yup. I mean, Hronek is probably a 2nd pair guy but maybe I'm just being too nice.

Bogosian was solid in Tampa. It makes you wonder if he could have got out of Buffalo while he was still young-ish. Can you prove that Jokiharyu is part of the problem? I'm open to it.
A deep dive into Jokiharju might drive me to drink.

We need a third goalie with NHL experience regardless I think.

Florida has Bob, Knight, and Dreigder
Dallas has Ottenginer, DeSmith, Hellberg
Vegas has Hill, Samsonov, Akira Schmidt
Toronto has Stolarz, Woll, Hildeby, and even Matt Murray
Vancouver has Demko, Lankinen, Silvos.
Minny has MAF, Gustavsson, Wallstedt

Even Winnipeg, the team that probably has the Vezina favorite in Hellebuyck has invested in three NHL caliber goalies (Helly, Comrie, and they picked up Kahkonen).

Like I guess Colin Delia is supposed to be that third guy for us? He's having an awful year in the AHL though. If Skinner were to get hurt our tandem would become Pickard/Delia? Rodrigue has 0 NHL experience.

It just strikes me as a setup that a rebuilding team would have not one that's in a contention window.

It'd be more prudent I think if Pickard was our 3rd goalie and we got another goalie who could be a 1A/1B to push Skinner and/or take the ball and run with it if goes through more stretches of inconsistency.

Idek who's available for a backup/1B for this team. I'm personally not a fan of running the tandem of Skinner/Pickard again for the post season.

Tier A (guys who quite possibly just become our no.1 starter outright):
Vejemelka
Talbot
Dostal (obviously probably not cheap)
Gibson @50% retained and/or with a salary like Arvidsson or Kane going out
Montembault (?)
Mrazek

Tier B (younger guys who aren't as established but could break out or cheaper options):
Blomqvist
Soderblom
Lyon
Vladar
Forsberg

Tier C (still better than nothing)
Reimer
Nedeljkovic
Annunen
Ingram*

*I know this guy has gotten shit on a lot because he's had good numbers the last two years and bad this year, but apparently he is dealing with an upper body injury which could largely explain his poor play. In that case, you may be able to acquire him for cheap with salary retained.

Tier D (warm body but better than potentially starting Delia or Rodrigue in a playoff game)
Matt Murray (Toronto)

Ingram looked like a Vezina goalie like two years ago I think must have injury issues

Vejemelka would be a sneaky good pickup. Dostal looks to be the ducks #1 for awhile, so I doubt it happens. I have no interest in Gibson whatsoever + his numbers/health are just too concerning. I always liked Talbot, but idk how he'll do having to work with Schwartz once again which would give him the 1st shot/1st goal problem that we're witnessing with the duo of Skinner/Pickard as well lol. Montembault could also work assuming they package Matheson with him is my guess.

But yeah, idk if I'm content with any of the mentioned goalies as long as Schwartz is involved. That guy can turn gold into shit.

He's dealing with an upper body injury this year apparently.

If you could get him for like 45% retained (only 1 mill salary for this year and next year) it may not be a bad gamble.

His advanced metrics the previous two years are really good on a team that wasn't very good (Arizona).

If he breaks out here, he's still only 27 with lots of run way left. It wouldn't be my first choice, but if it's there and a lot of the other options aren't workable, then I would roll the dice on it.
