I don’t feel confident in Pickard if and when Skinner shits the bed. Especially in the playoffs. So we're upgrading on Skinner then?
I'm hearing you out. But the market is telling you that the options aren't necessarily upgrades.

So what's the solution? Forego the defense or the forward upgrade and spend on a goalie that plays what? 8 games for the duration?I don’t feel confident in Pickard if and when Skinner shits the bed. Especially in the playoffs.
I’d actually take Reimer, Quick, or whomever over Pickard actuallySo what's the solution? Forego the defense or the forward upgrade and spend on a goalie that plays what? 8 games for the duration?
I agree that Pickard isn't a favorable starter in that instance. But neither are many of the options that I listed. Mind you, I also see some upside in Bakersfield with Rodrigue who's had another year of positive development. It's not out of the question that he sees some games in Edmonton down the stretch.
No goalie is going to salvage the stats of this team to date other than Skinner, who has historically corrected in the second half. If there's an 'upgrade' in the cards, it's a last hour type trade for a veteran like Reimer, Quick or whomever for a late pick. Statistically that's not an upgrade.
That's pretty much the only thing I could see happening in net.I’d actually take Reimer, Quick, or whomever over Pickard actually

The Oilers will go into the postseason with those two. This management seems oddly proud how little they invest in the most important position in hockey.I’d rather that so this team doesn’t go into the postseason with the current tandem. Skinner can be Jekyll and Hyde. Pickard isn’t the solution either so lol
