I haven’t watched Karlsson much since he went to Pittsburgh but he was an absolute tire fire defensively in San Jose. He was a disaster in his Norris winning season. For the price he would cost with retention it isn’t worth it at all.

Sure but that was in SJ. He was probably facing the top competition and still put up 100 pts

I’m not saying he’s the answer, but is he the worst idea as a number 4?

Karlsson would be a dream addition, but the cap just makes it impossible. We'd basically be betting it all on Karlsson, which is not what we need to do. We want an upgrade on Stecher/Brown, and that would allow Kulak to anchor the 3rd pairing. We don't need some superstar.

I don't think it's as much mental as it is purely physical

Like that chance Vancouver's hobbit got early first. Cross crease. He hits the side of the net. That should have gone in

Skinner literally just kind of trips up instead of pushing across smoothly. He fell right on his a**

I've said a dozen times on this message board, and a million times in real life, that Skinner has the absolute worst balance, agility and quickness of any goalie in the NHL probably 3/4 of the goalies in the AHL.

It's why when Pickard comes in, even though he's not technically sound himself, I don't have a heart attack every time the puck is passed cross crease in the defensive zone. Pickard actually has NHL quality legs and feet.

If you have a d-core that is able to consistently break up those cross ice passes, Skinner can do an adequate job. If your team is letting those passes get through however, you're going to have a very bad night, because Stu is going to do a megaton of flopping, and swimming in his crease.

I am afraid for EK65 being on the block because that sounds exactly like the kind of splash Bowman would think is an "Ekholm like" defender, and ironically we'd end up worse off defensively.

Happy for sure he stuck in the org. He'll be back up come playoff time and I imagine joins the coaching staff next year. He's going to be a good person to have around our young players in the years to come.
