What do you think our needs are at the deadline? Looking for a 2RD and adding depth to the bottom 6 could make a lot of sense.

I was reading the Sharks boards and found that they're liking the addition of Timothy Liljegren. Connor Murphy also comes to mind. Which 'flavor' of RD is a more suitable upgrade to Stetcher on Nurse's pairing?

As for bottom-6 depth, I'm not really sure who stands out. Pat Maroon has playoff pedigree, size, physicality, but he's 36. I'm not sure who else is worth targeting.

Klingberg is kind of interesting at the cost of free and with his skill-set. Atleast the player he used to be. It's just too bad we are half way through the season, there's not much runway for a trial run to see where he's at after surgery. Are they talking about him coming back for this season? or next?

I think people are being a little too hard on Klingberg. The guy needed hip resurfacing surgery. I would think having a bum hip would contribute a lot to defensive struggles. Pivots, hits, board battles, everything important to a Dman would be affected by hip issues. He’s not super old. If he has his full mobility back he could be a diamond in the rough and the exact skill set that could perform well with Nurse. Honestly, I’d rather trial Klingberg at league minimum up till the trade deadline and see if trading for a Matheson or Risto is even needed. At his best he was better than both of those two.

He's not gonna do shit, lol. Best to keep the expectations realistic, if these guys can show up to work with pants on that's automatically a good start.

Giving Philly a 1st for Ristolanien will probably exhaust the front office.
i'm not expecting a huge move, we don't have the assets. Be smart and target the right guys. A goalie probably won't happen. Risto is NOT the right guy IMO.

Everyone come boo Greg Wyshynski. He's stirring shit up by questioning if McDavid will sign here. "When Draisaitl signed we all thought McDavid would and I don't believe that to be the case."

He’s an Oiler hater for years. Don’t pay any attention to him.

I'd be curious to look up when the Hip issue started affecting his game. And what he was just prior to that. But I agree there's an interesting option here if he can find his game post-surgery. The time line to find out is dwindling though, so it might not be realistic.

ya, it would totally make sense for his best friend to commit here for 8 more years, and for his wife to open a second business here, with about one year left for him to stay here. A lot of haters out there, most of them are either in the 97 isn't going to resign in Edmonton camp or their in the sure 97 is good but he's never won a Cup camp or they are in both of those camps. I'm not worried one bit.

if you can get him for 1 million or less, for one year, then it's no risk at all, and I say you do it. But, that being said, you still need to get another guy that is a clear upgrade for our top 4 D.

Wyshynski's such a tool. Essentially his doubts boil down to, "durrr but Boston and NYR are interesting markets"

An interesting market with what to offer Connor exactly? Both franchises are closer to going into a rebuild then contending at this point.

Considering the sparseness of the RHD market. I say we get as many bullets in the chamber as possible. Liked the Regula pick up for that reason. Fabbro would have been a nice get too, but alas. So yeh at the cost of free, it makes sense to give him a trial, but we better make moves fast cause the TDL is coming right up and we need to know what we have.

I want Parayko. Second in the league in ES toi/game. 24 points in 44 games with almost no PP time.

Cup winner. Local kid. Affordable contract. Fits every need this team has.

Well aside from being available. But I still want him. Blues could be a losing streak away from packing it in for the season.

Add in Vejmelka at 50% retained at the deadline from Utah to replace Pickard and you’ve got yourself the overwhelming cup favourite imo.

That's also a reason I want to see Philp up with the Oilers soon, to see how he looks, or if they are going to need an upgrade at 4C as well on D. The team looks great, but they are gonna need some upgrades and depth for the playoffs, you know the Avs, Golden Knights, Stars, Kings, etc are all going to add and improve as well. They can't afford to get left behind.

what would you being willing to give up for a retained (to a cap hit that would fit) Parayko? Would you do Savoie, next year's first rounder, and Akey?

Personally, I’d do that easily. I’m not sure he’d cost quite that much though. I’d look at what we paid for Ekholm who at the time of acquisition was in a very similar situation as Parayko is now in terms of age, ability and contract.

So next years 1st and Sam O’Reilly as a start. But if it took more I’d still do it.

I turn him off wherever he is, I won't even listen to yegsportstalk when he is on. Tell the f***er that Lauren started a clothing line and is opening a high end bar in Edmonton. Dumbass doesn't know shit. The best reaction is to not react, engage or listen. Stirring the pot for reaction gets engagement, sponsors and income for people like him to keep spreading his crap. (This is how Eklund kept around. The anger audience kept him afloat.)

I’m not the biggest Skinner fan in the world. But this is just wrong. Skinner would have way more value that Georgiev. Georgiev is a cap dump with negative value. Skinner is a young goalie who has seen certain levels of success in his young career and has played or outplayed his current cap-hit. These two players are not the same at all.
The Sharks wouldn't want Skinner the same way they didn't want Georgiev. But at least Georgiev's contract ends this year. They both would've brought negative value to the table.

He has looked good in the non Oiler games I have watched, but the experts here say he is washed

The Blues GM just said he wants to be more of a rebuilding team. He does not want to be in this spot that they are in.

Idk
The issue with him is that his health issue impacted his core skills, so I'd think if he's 100% then it wouldn't take long to see if he's for real or not. The deadline is a couple months away.

Parayko I think would instantly give us the best D-core in the league. It’s interesting how he overcame injuries a few years ago after he signed the contract. He looked cooked for a bit there, but has re-established himself as one of the best defensive dmen in the league, with a booming shot to boot. Could have had him almost for free 2 years ago.

Blues are building up and will probably be a playoff team next year, they aren't trading Parayko. You can thank Jackson for speeding up the rebuild for them.

Insider trading. According to Chris, the sense league wide it would be JT Miller move. We might not see moves until this domino drops.

Conroy told Lebrun that he has no interest in trading Andersson and wants to extend him.

Had a feeling this might be clogging up the trade pipeline.

SHIT OR GET OFF THE POT ALREADY ALLVIN. DUDES OVERRATED TRASH. JUST TAKE WHAT YOU CAN GET AND MOVE ON.

Are they? They’re tracking for a 10 point decrease from last season right now.
Lol. Nice.

I'd think time will be kind to them. They have some gains in Holloway but when Broberg puts all his tools together they will be something

At least, I'm guessing they are thinking on these lines, and that their best players such as Kyrou and Thomas will mature into a more well rounded game. Plus Krug will be back. Imo Parayko should be able to hold his value, and trading him opens a hole in RD, which is hard to fill nowadays

Dreger think if it's not the Leafs (don't know why Klingberg would rehash his failure in that market), the likely front runners for Klingberg is Edmonton. That's a pretty juicy rumour.

Also, Klingberg has been skating hard the last couple weeks in anticipation of coming back... interesting.
