After reading the last few pages are we back picking up the garbage other teams want to dump?
As long as their garbage is better than our garbage.

Compared his speed to Leo Carlsson and Troy Terry.

Hits per game this year were 2, last year 127 hits in 52 games.

His corsi this year is in the 20s.

Tread carefully.
Yeah his numbers this year are dreadful, Boston is kind of falling apart right now though.

No, we're back to looking at young depth players who might be a better fit for this team.

Max Jones is on waivers, he's $1M on the cap and has another year at $1M.

He's got size and is a former 1st round pick, he might be a fit for the bottom-6.

Pick him up and waive Janmark or Ryan (or both)?
You would get rid of another one of our best PKers from last season? Seems like a bad idea.

Stauffer kind of calling out management

He said the roster knows the defence is worse than last year and he’s getting the feeling the core is waiting for the other shoe to drop on defence from Stan Bowman.

He also is finally calling out the goaltending and says at some point management has to take responsibility for the choices they made in the offseason.

Wishfully thinking he’s throwing out hints?

It is a bad idea. The PK cant afford a downgrade.

The issue with this team IMO is due to 2 primary things.
The hangover from the SCF and the downgraded defence. The hangover will take care of itself with time which should be reflected by improved numbers on the PK and the PP.
The defence on the other hand wont fix itself with time.
Bowman needs to do something to address the defence.

A side issue for me is that this team is butter soft. Probably the softest team in the NHL.
Constantly being badly out hit by other soft teams (like New Jersey).
Kane will help that but the bottom 6 needs some jam IMO.
It badly needs an energy player which is why (at this point in time) I would prefer to see Caggiula on the wing over Ryan.

Bob’s dream of Ristolainen may come true. Apparently his game has picked up big time and he’s playing top 4 now. He keeps bringing him up.

Based on how awful our D core has been in terms of breakout passing, I’d gladly welcome Ristolainen

Risto is averaging 5 seconds more of 5v5 per game than Dermott.

He's a guy you take a flyer on at like $2M not with $15M left on his deal.

It seems to me that JJ refuses to budge off the Cap Space Accrual plan - something they needed to deep six the second after the offer sheets landed. Blindly sticking to Plan A may very well sink this teams cup aspirations.

If you can get double retention I think you go for it.

You'd have to pay out the nose for double retention on a $5M deal with two more years left.

Stauffer usually doesn't call out management unless they are dead men walking. Very interesting that he'd be calling out Bowman and Jackson this early into each of their tenures here. Meanwhile Schwartz continues to be the teflon man.

They should be kicking the can on provorov imo. Ufa to be so if things don't work out you can just walk away and he's making sub 5 million so if he does es work out the increase in cap hit if he were to be resigned wouldnt be debilitating to our cap.
