Sounds like the Coyotes are ready to sell off. Do we have any interest in Dumba for RHD depth?

I like his grit and that could be useful in a playoff run.

One name out there that Stauffer keeps pushing and other insiders are bringing up, Seravalli saying that he might or might not be on the market depending on if the Wild are making a playoff push as if he's a big deal, is Duhaime.

He's kind of youngish and is apparently fast but he has 4 goals and is a -8. I don't get the appeal, good size though. Seems like a Lafferty-lite. Maybe somebody who has seen him more can shed some light on this. Maybe he's a "seen him good" type of player.

It's just that old school narrative that physical forechecking types are "playoff players".

Meanwhile he just goes out there and gets destroyed at actually playing hockey for 8 minutes per night.

I have no idea why Medi Chicken has a hard on for Duhaime. He has 4 goals and plays 8 minutes a night of energy.

How in the hell is that suppose to help us?

That's what I figured, a coke machine. Interesting that Seravalli would even have a segment about a plug like this since he's more of a new age guy (for instance, he liked the Walker idea for the Oilers more than the Tanev idea).

If we are literally just swapping Ceci and something else for Walker, that's going to be incredibly underwhelming. :(

This Trade deadline is feeling like last years deadline. Heard lots of names float around Edmonton, then out of the blue, Ekholm was available, and we got him a week later, then on Deadline day, we got Bjudstad. I think Holland is trying to be more creative this year, hence we haven't heard anything concrete. I'm patient enough to see what he does. And I'm content not rushing either. Because you can see no other team is rushing to do trades either.

I agree, I assume there's been alot of conversation, it's just waiting on teams to say yay or nay to any deals.

Looking at the standings, things are still pretty close, but the teams chasing the last playoff spots have started to fall further out. I think this next week will really confirm some things for some teams.

From the standings today, the teams that are likely finished for any chance at the playoffs, teams and current points.

In the West, LA & Nsh have 68 pts / In the East TB and Phi have 69 pts( Caveat, only the Metro teams can catch Phi)

Chicago - 35pts
San Jose - 35pts
Anaheim - 43pts
Columbus - 48pts
Arizona - 52pts
Ottawa - 53pts
Montreal - 54pts
Buffalo - 58pts (I guess an very outside chance, but if feels really long)

One player that Matt Larkin on DFO aka Seravalli’s website, says we are in on and actively scouting Buchnevich. We are one of his top destinations
Honestly, I would pay a decent amount to get both Buchevich and Hayes on with retentions from STL. (Not Ryan McLeod).

This would be the kind of move that would create depth that could help alot going forward.

He would be an amazing add for us. How do we fit in his 5.8M in?

Hard to do without 50% retention. He has one more year left, so retention is probably possible. It will be expensive with retention though.

Probably just easier to trade him to the Knights or another team that has cap room or LTIR.

I think was a mistake for Holland to not try and clean his cap a bit last offseason. This is always the problem with him. He backs himself into a corner. Hopefully he can pull something off like the Ekholm trade again. But the more I look at that deal, I think Poile was just doing Ekholm a favor for being an upstanding soldier of the team.

"Darren Dreger got a tidbit about trade talk for Saros. Nashville asked for the moon and the receiving team couldn't believe it. "
