In your closet
"Darren Dreger got a tidbit about trade talk for Saros. Nashville asked for the moon and the receiving team couldn't believe it. "

People think the ridiculous trade proposals that get posted on HFboards are unrealistic when in reality the reason there is so few trades is that that's exactly how NHL teams actually operate.

To be fair, no goalies are worth Nemec and Mercer. Not even the best ones

So is Calgary the team that is holding up all the trades? I hope they end up with underwhelming returns for their players. Hopefully nobody gives them a first for Tanev and the return for Hanifin isn't great with his very small list of teams he would agree to extend with. And I'm hoping New Jersey stumbles out of the playoffs and doesn't pick up Markstrom and puts Tofolli on the market. He would be my ideal top6 pickup.

Now is the time to make a trade for Connor Ingram and Schmaltz

I would have a lot of time for Connor Ingram.

You want to whine about Vegas "getting lucky" with Hill, maybe try looking at similar aged goalies who are under siege on bad teams but still posting .900+ save percentage or better yet, .910+.

That might not be such a bad idea.

That's just silly speculation to me.

The Oilers can't afford Buchnevich - especially next season - without moving big money like Kane.

This is why the Brown deal was so, so stupid. No one wanted to give a fart about next year's cap, now maybe those people are sobered up to realize, yeah actually that $3+ million in dead cap really was needed.

Calgary is playing pretty good. Them holding on to everyone and just missing would be the most Calgary thing ever and I could see it happening.

And it will also be just enough for their fans and the media to crow all off season about "oh well they were really good down the stretch so look out this year!" only to fall completely flat in October.

You're adding $12M in salary this year and next for two guys who apparently are going to cost a couple 1sts each.

You might get retention for another 1st each, so are you really willing to give up like six 1st rounders for those two?
Maybe it won't cost that much even with retention and Campbell and Foegele go the other way
