Fair enough. We know that Kane had similar attitude problems that had him ostracized from multiple organizations, and at age 29 he put it together and grew up. People are capable of change we’ve seen it here enough times. A guy that skilled is worth talking to now that he’s a free agent and seeing if some sort of wake-up call or change in demeanour has taken place.

Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-DeAngelo
Broberg-Ceci

Will have to in all likelihood move Kulak or Ceci to make it work. That looks like a great group if Nurse is willing to accept he must become a shutdown guy for us.
Besides all the other problems, DeAngelo sucks at playing defense

Whether he's racist, homophobic or just a straight up old fashioned asshole, the bottom line is that
he's a problem child and not someone that you want in the room it seems. Just because someone hasn't publicly said or done something despicable doesn't mean that behind closed doors they are a good person or teammate. He is skilled enough that his problems are definitely not skill based. If you or anyone else want to debate whether he is racist, homophobic, etc. you and anyone else can do that via private messages or on the main board, we're not having more discussion of this shit here to derail this thread.

I’m Flameophobic and proud of it.

Hopefully were not so close to the cap, that his deal being like 100k over the minimum screws him.

Kind of wish it was 2 years just incase he pops off.
I think he believes he will get picked if waived, if he doesn't make the team.

I have no idea, but I'll give credit for being ballsy

You haven’t put that account on ignore yet?

he’d fit right in with the oilers crew!!

In all seriousness. That is not the type of player we need in so many ways
If you're going to grab an offensive RHD who's coming off a tough year looking for a chance with a good team, Matt Dumba is right there and he's both a better hockey player and person than DeAngelo

Nothing like some motivation. He also got a 92,000 bonus, so there is that too.
It's alot less than a one-way $775k, which might have been on the table

So, if I'm reading this correctly, we have the option before the start of the regular season to put Lavoie on the Oilers or Condors , and then if we wanted to send him down or call him up he would go through waivers ?

That kinda sucks , I'd rather not lose a second round pick with upside for nothing. Hopefully this all works out.

If the team can run 13F - 7D - 2G ... it really helps with someone like Lavoie. If he has a slow start (which is honestly likely) it allows the team to give some rope (by allowing him to be the extra F and swap in) while he learns what it takes to be in the NHL, without putting the team in a tough spot. Ultimately it depends what we can sign McLeod and Bouchard for.

Judging from the number, Lavoie is going to a look to make the big club

Kid should've signed for 1 year at $775K. He'd have a lot better shot earning NHL money if he's signed for league minimum and outplays a vet making the same.

Ya you’d think one way at 775k would be the more logical choice for both sides. We just went through a year where he made too much to get called up and if it happens again, he’s going to be out 800k.

So Lavoie spends another full year with the Condors or we trade him?
This year Lavoie will have a good chance to play alot of minutes. He has started his road to improving his play away from the puck. He has a real good chance of improving this year.
Really hoping to see his defensive retrieval rates improve this year.
