Is it Skinners net now? How bad has Campbell been?
In fantasy my goalies are Skinner & Korpisalo, someone dropped Campbell and I'm thinking of picking him up in addition to my 2 goalies. I know he's struggling but I'm in a really deep league, he's still 64% owned, the next highest available player is like 20% lol. Would you guys do it? Or has he really been that bad? How many starts do you expect him to get from here on out?

Yeah I was bitching about him as well. I think we paid a bit too much for Ekholm personally, and I think we should have been able to get more retention, but those are small details. As long as Ekholm doesn't fall off a cliff over the remainder of his contract, I think it will be fine. That IS a worry though. He will be 33 in May, so the final 3 years on his contract are ages 33-35. That age range can get pretty dicey sometimes. Some players only have small regressions, and others just completely implode. I guess we'll see which Ekholm is. He has been remarkably healthy in his career through so far from what I can see, so hopefully that bodes well for how he ages in general.

All that being said, I think Holland improved the teams chance of winning a cup this year, and likely next as well, which is what we were all complaining about.

Skinner had a baby, an all-star game, and a flu that kept him out for a long time. During that time, dummies like Mark Spector who are truly clueless proclaimed that Campbell had re-claimed the starter position.

Skinner has been the #1 guy since week 2 of the season and while healthy and available is going to start all the important games. The enormous chasm in performance/results between Campbell & Skinner is about as close to insurmountable as it gets.

Lol thanks for the advice everyone, idk though it does seem to flip flop, I remember when Skinner was away due to the birth of his baby people were saying it's Soups net now and he was playing really good or something; however this may have been salty people who drafted Soup in the 3rd round and are mad that we got Skinner as a free agent pickup lol

When he took away the media doughnuts in the preseason I thought it was stupid that a coach would concern himself with that whatsoever. By game 10 I wanted him fired.

Campbell is the worst goalie to wear an Oilers jersey since Dubnyk. Maybe even worse than him. I can't think of an Oilers goalie that he's been better than in the past 10+ years lmao

Campbell has more wins but the team wins in spite of him.

Could change by the playoffs though.

That is such an insult to Dubnyk. He was massively superior. He put up numbers at least as good as Skinner (sometimes better) On a much worse team.
