Rumor: Rumors & Proposals Thread | If Babcock is Our New Coach Will Players Want to Come Here?

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
-Avs dismantling their storied forward depth due to cap and still only being able to run Kulak-Malinski as a second pair + 79 year old Brent Burns

-Stars (probably) losing Robertson to the East and still being squeezed hard by the ceiling

-Panthers giving up their best trade chip for a 60ish point winger with no starter

-Tampa losing a top four PMD for nothing

The window is wide open for Stan, can he avoid falling out of it altogether?

According to Woodley from ingoal magazine- Ingram had the best underlying metrics of any goalie available. He will also have a full summer of training. Don't sleep on him
Ingram was out of shape. Hadn't played in a year as well.

I would want some assurances this guy was putting in the work over the summer to get fit and better.

His contract is no were near as bad as every one making it out to be esp with the rising cap. You won't be able to replace him for 6 million now but hfoil know better...
I say keep him unless you are getting a LD back with size that can replace him in 2-3 years but can play sheltered 3rd pairing now. Staseny isnt bad but without nurse we have a huge hole.

I would still take Burns on this team in a heart beat. Suggested signing him last year and was told I was nuts.

Avs free up cap space

That's the 2nd player I wanted gone, but unlike Tuch who was a little too costly (contract wise), I would of beaten this offer. I can't speak to his substance issues and if all that is truly behind him, but he was a significant possession driver and extremely hard to beat on puck battles, and even though his offense wasn't eye popping by any means at no point has he dipped below 2nd line offense points per 60 at 5 on 5.

I know its typically not the kind of thing you do after just acquiring him. but I think Kadri is less impactful at the moment and I would of traded him before Nichushkin if I wanted to free up cap.

He just really seems like one who is unlikely to play in Canada. Especially when there is a younger version of him in Booch.
I can see him going to Anaheim or back to the Sharks or Florida as a 6/7 to enjoy the weather and a chance to get engraved.

Burns was better than I was expecting him to be last season, I think he also signed for cheaper than I was expecting.

I know some think of Burns as an over the hill Bouch, but I will say Burns has really good PK numbers across multiple seasons, far better in that respect than people give him credit for.

I always assumed Nurse would get the strongest value post July 1 when teams had whiffed on UFAs, so I don’t know if Bowman should really feel that rushed to make a deal. A Cossa or Levi is still doable even without moving him by the Draft so just focus on that plus whatever other forward options fall out.
