I could see Wilson wanting that to happen too after playing with McDavid at the Olympics. I really liked that fit, it’s not perfect but he’d add a dimension that we really need more of.

Wilson would be a great fit for Draisaitl and Podkolzin.

There's very few Eastern teams that have a $7m forward.

Ducks have Terry, McTavish and Granlund and there's been whispers of Anaheim being interested in Nurse. They also only have one full time D-man signed and Nurse is a very Verbeek type of dman. Don't think they'd trade us Terry or McTavish, but Granlund makes some sense.

Granlund could be our 2C if Draisaitl is up with McDavid.

I’m not really a Boeser fan but the guy can score when he’s not depressed. I think he’s signed for too long too. But if he rebounded on a line with Drai or McDavid that would be huge, he could be a 30-40 goal guy.

I listened again. Stauffer said if the Oilers move the Nurse contract, they could get a 7 million dollar forward back and sign a 2-3 million dollar defender.

I wonder if Babcock might help against the refs. You’re right though that’s a legit concern, they neutered Lucic by applying a totally different standard than he was used to throughout his career.

If we had the horses for it I’d suggest just be mean pricks from game 1 and don’t stop. Maybe they’ll eventually get the Panthers treatment, maybe they only call so much and let the rest slide. Just don’t elbow goalies in the head, even if the refs allow it.

Boeser has been a pretty decent playoff performer the couple times he's actually been there in his career.

But yeah, he is painfully slow. Also not sure his style of play is actually a great match for McDavid or Draisaitl. Feels like a Jeff Skinner redux but far more risk.

7 goals and 12 points in 12 games for Canucks in playoffs 2 years ago. He and Garlund were the only guys who scared me.

He’d be absolutely lethal in the RNH spot on the PP. Right hand shot for one timers with teams no longer able to key in on Draisaitl on the other side. I’d probably still take Wilson over him if the cost was similar though. I could see both Vancouver and Washington interested in Howard. The Caps are kind of overloaded with right hand shots after their trades.

This is not selling high. Babcock can get 20 plus goals from this kid, he’s done it with lesser players who were 3rd, 4th, 5th round picks and so on. Have some patience.

No one is giving you a top end player for Howard right now.
