We have 6 days until trade deadline. Why don't we all take a couple of steps away from the edge, and see what we do, than make shit posts like "BoWmAn usEs OnLy WaiVer WiRe PiCkS! HE's toO StOoPiD tO MaKe a TrAde!".

So Chicago may have gotten Connor Bedard a starting goalie before we got Connor McDavid one? Wonderful.

I haven’t seen anyone whine about Seth Jones. I think posters are making a point to say that other teams are able to make complicated deals with retentions, dumping salaries, etc. Other teams are not afraid to make big moves while all we hear from the Oilers is how hard it is and tinkering around the edges.

I think fans are frustrated with the lack of activity because we have many moves (at least IMO) that we still need to make. I think we need to see 4 new players on this roster. However based on what we've heard it's a depth forward and a depth defenceman.

I can see Bowman throwing up his hands after the deadline and saying "what were you expecting?"

Like we need to do add a goalie, a defenceman and probably 2 new forwards. So get to work and make something happen already.

Probably been sitting at their desks for 5 months deciding which D they are going to spend 4m on and which 4C they want to spend 1m.

He also has Arvy’s salary, Klingberg’s salary, Kapanen’s salary, Janmark’s salary, Pickard and Skinner’s salary that he can move. Boman can make this a significantly stronger roster but I think our front office is horrid. Bill Scott, Keith Gretzky and Stan Boman. Florida has Bill Zito, Sunny Mehta (freaking analytics wizard), Paul Fenton, Rick Dudley, Les Jackson, Greg Campbell, Brett Peterson. That’s like 3 former GMs reporting to Bill Zito. How the f*** are Bill Scott and Keith Gretzky still here

I want a veteran for this reason. A guy who will tell him to f*** off and that he’s an idiot. Not some young guy who is too scared to speak up.

I like Bill Scott. He's a good numbers guy. Gretzky has been good with Bako.

They really should have like 1 more really strong AGM in the pipeline though. I dont think Gretzky or Scott will ever be good enough to be a GM.

Oh they could be proactive and move some other salary to open up more moves but I’ll believe it when I see it. Only guy who might move who makes some money is JSkinner. But I doubt they will find a contender to take him if hes even willing to move. Knoblauch hasn’t done anything to pump his value up.

Do we even know if Keith does anything with the Oilers or Bako. I never hear anything about him.
 
I am curious if we will see a significant trade before Tuesday. If not, not really convinced we will do much other than depth moves.

Which begs the conspiracy theorist in me to question are Serecalli & Friedman being shit disturbers to draw attention to the Oilers and open them up to an investigation. One would think no, they’re professional journalists but on the other hand, Serevalli and especially Friedman loves to shit on them too (Friedman more so than Serevalli).

We make it to game 7, downgrade our forwards, spend all our saved cap on Klingberg and go “it’s fine”. We are not a serious organization.

If there's a blackhawks player I do like, its Lukas Reichel.

Can we relax a bit and wait until after the deadline. Everything is literally going according to plan. Are we really going to sit on all this cap space?
