Thanks for telling me i should never consider anything you say seriously.

Didnt work out? The oilers failed him lmfao he had hyman level 5v5 points per 60 lmfao carrying himself! He shoulda had a spot with mcdrai all season long all playoffs long lmfao it was like krissy KNOB-LOCK just hated him. Just decided "the gm wanted you, but i dont like you"
Same thing with Skinner. I posted an interview with Dennis King where he nailed it. He said

“the coach had a blind spot about Skinner. He ignored all the good he can do and focused on the bad. A good coach shouldn’t have blind spots.”

I disagree with the Panthers were just so much better than the oilers in the finals- I think that their coaching staff owned ours.

Maybe our top players need to worry about just being top players and stop pretending to be GM’s.

Does McDavid need to be consulted on who the scouts are, who drives the team bus and flies the charter plane as well? You’d think it’d be exhausting always having management coming to you on every goddam personnel move this team thinks of making.

“Jeff, Anaheim wants to trade us Gibson at 50% retained for 2027 1st”

“Let me call Connor”
I wish Chiarelli did that. Those first 5 years of his career probably would have went much better.

I don't know it seems like our general managers over the years can use all the help they can get. No fan was handing out a contract of 9.25 to Nurse or running it back again with Skinner/Pickard etc etc

How do we know that players didn’t want to give Nurse 9.25

On this morning's 32 Thoughts Podcast:
  • Edmonton and Arvidsson working together to find a landing spot. Nobody is knifing each other on the way out. It didn't work out, it's time to move on.

  • Touched on goaltending, how Jake Allen is the best on the UFA market, so that would lead us to exploring trade options. Talked about going to our top players and asking what they think about such and such as an option.

  • "I also do think there's a decent chance Kapanen stays" - Friedman
Yeah let's go ask the players who one of suggested Campbell makes sense.

I think it’s unfortunate how it all turned out. I thought between him and skinner we added two top 6 players with a good pedigree for scoring.

In retrospect it looks bad letting Holloway walk but at the time skinner was averaging around 25 goals and Arvidsson had some good offensive upside too. We went with established players and it didn’t work out.

If one of those two click with either drai or McDavid we are laughing.

With all due respect it's pretty naive to think that top players, especially elite franchise players, don't get consulted on team direction in all sports really.

This is likely true but neither the management nor the players would want that to be leaked out public.

Not a great look on McD if Oilers not matching Holloway decision can be linked to him.

I’m sure I’ve seen multiple times that McDavid was not happy they didn’t get matched.

I should've checked their cap space sorry. But, Anaheim is willing to retain salary according to David Pagnotta.
They're willing to retain salary because they're trying to offload one of the worst goalies in the league this past decade after an outlier bounceback season and give the net to Dostal. Not because they actually need the cap space. John Gibson unretained has the value of a negative first round pick, possibly lower.

McDavid was not happy that the offersheets were signed while many others took discounts to stay.
I have read nothing that states he wanted them matched. I dont think he cared much for Broberg anyway.

Meanwhile McDavid's idea of "discounts" Adam Henrique at 3 million and Mattias Janmark at 1.45 million lol.

Don't know whether the rumours about McDavid not wanting Holloway/Broberg matched or not is true. But most players don't have a clue how to even evaluate their teammates let alone build a roster/manage the salary cap, and should stay out of these decisions.

Goodbye Zegras

This is the type of tallent McDavid deseves... we could have traded Holloway and Broberg for him and received something sustantial beyond Zegras in return for a cup run...

... what a f***ing shit league the NHL is, the Oil will never recover from losing Holloway and Broberg for 10 cents on the dollar.

The franchise was f***ed over for becoming too relevant, the offer sheets for Holloway and Broberg had little to do with the St. Louis Blues interests, it was the motherf***ing league's interests.

They knocked us the f*** down, put us in our place, and closed the Oil's window for a championship. We might have had a shot at multiple Cups, just like Florida.
