Rumor: Rumors & Proposals Thread: “I’d buy that for a dollar!!!” Edition

Makes me wonder if a deal between Edmonton and Seattle has a verbal deal agreed upon if Seattle can’t extend Eberele.

Tonight after the game or tomorrow may be interesting.
I feel like it’s something we will circle around to if he doesn’t sign. Seravalli said that Seattle won’t leave the deadline without signing or trading Eberle

Massive early fall off for this guy but the games too fast for him now as he never was the greatest skater.

Eberle has a remaining hit of 1.205 million.

We have an available cap of 0.226 million.

Eberle at 75% retention is a remaining cap hit of 0.301 million. Meaning we would have a shortfall of 0.07525 million. We could easily make up that gap by sending down Brown for an extra 0.169 million in cap space.

Hopefully this helps.

Yes, if we dumped Brown and managed to get 75% retention that would be enough I believe.

It's too late to do that through waivers though.

Have to chuckle that a bunch of you think that Broberg is the next Cale Makar, which he isn’t.
not sure where anyone said anything at all like that

its just plain stupid to keep kearing "Broberg and Holloway are not available for upgrades" and then have them buried in the AHL and keep giving them 4th line minutes while you spend assets on "upgrades" for a 7th D

If it’s a short term injury you have to play short for a game. However like what happened to the Rangers, we would be short on cap because we added a player at the deadline and wouldn’t be eligible for an emergency free recall.

Really depends on who gets injured and when, and the exact moves we make.

If we got Eberle at 75% and sent down Brown we'd have a projected cap space of 0.093 million. So long as we make it 55% of the cap accrual through the season you can call Gagner or Brown back up without any hassle, otherwise you might have to play a guy short for a couple games.

It's not ideal, but it gets you a better roster with more depth come playoffs.

Well thats why they are both in the AHL now. Org doesn't think they are quite ready, so they grab a 7 d to finish the season so Broberg can stay in the AHL and be the 8th guy. Same with Holloway.

Can't send down Brown before the trade deadline now so we can't waive guys to be cap complaint tomorrow so whatever trade we make for Eberle, cannot include waiving someone to be cap complaint.
