Screw Hyman and 6 million . Better to rebuild the bottom 6 with net positive players

Goodrow
Armia
Trade for a 3 line C
Get a goalie
If RNH can be signed for around 5 reunite DRY line
Find a Maroon type of player for MCDavid
Build a fast 4th line Archibald McLeod Kassian

Last year I suggested miles Wood. Could of had him for almost nothing to take his cap hit. Now you would have to pay a good prospect. Yes Holland just isn't listening. Has done a couple of stupid things and has not done a couple of smart things.
This year Yzerboy has a player that we need: though it might be smart to keep Holland by himself away from him.
If not we should circle back to CLB jackets-- Nyquist will do nicely for a couple of years and CLB will trade him for Jones and a 2022 second likely-- if were smart we go after Matiss for the farm in the deal.
We should start the courting for Armia now before Montreal resigns him--yes i know the rules that everyone breaks--and we should overpay ...maybe 3.75 mil.
Goodrow ....goodluck...15 GMs will pay for him.

I would want to see him return to Montreal for a good 30 games before even thinking of taking a risk on his contract. Edmonton isn’t the most gentle place on a fragile ego either.
His psychiatrist likely agrees with you. Maybe he should go down and see the some desert sunsets for a while. No one cares much there, little pressure, the 13 fans that show up are drunken Snowbirds, and the snow is easy to shovel. He can play 9 holes in the afternoon instead of worrying about the game. Maybe in a year he can be back and enjoy the game again and enjoy life again.

Strome sucks on the wing, he’s been ass whenever asked to play it. Oh, and he’s slow as shit also. Maybe worth a gamble if he comes cheap which I don’t think he will.
Take a look at our LWs. Strome is better than all of them unless Nuge returns

Switzerland would be a great place to have a great career and enjoy a great living with a whole lot less stress also.

Dylan Strome's $3M price tag is too much on a guy who is really a "take a flyer on" type player imo.

If he was making ~$1-1.5M sure. Then there isn't much risk if he isn't a fit. But at $3M that's a not insignificant roster spot he'll be taking up if he flops.

Arizona shopping OEL again....they're going to have to seriously retain unless Seattle is willing to take that contract on.

It’s ok if nothing of merit goes the other way but that’s not likely to happen.

Seeing Holland's M.O. previously...and knowing Tippets history with OEL...I see this becoming Oilers focus if Klef is confirmed done.

I don't agree with it, I believe OEL even at 50% retention is not a player/contract worth taking on for this team...but they'll be blinded by past results and a 'veteran' potentially filling the LD.

Totally agree with this. We should not be touching OEL at all even at 50% retention. He was downright horrid this season.

Except he won’t flop. He’s had one bad season.

OEL makes sense if it's a move including Klefbom as a piece that brings a significant chunk of the overall value along with another piece that negates salary and a conditional pick based on Klefbom's health.

I know he's not the same player as he was at 25, but he's a better option than anyone else realistically available on today's LD market. Whoever gets him is getting a defenseman that is probably a lot better than he's shown in a deteriorating situation in Arizona.
