OEG places way too much emphasis on merit and previous accolades. Look at all the current successful franchises. What do they all have in common? Innovation and a progressive mindset. Off the top of my head, we are the one of the only, if not the only franchise, that has completely shifted backwards from this wave in the NHL. We hired a gm that cannot keep up with this new environment and it is completely biting us in the ass. It is not a case of Kenny Holland being a bad gm, it is his inability and downright reluctance to change with the league.

WTF is taking the NHL so long?

Referring to NHL decision on Kane, Tippett firing, Nicholson firing, and Oilers to score the first goal.
WRT Kane.. I suspect they don't like him and will drag out 'paperwork' for awhile.

Shit, pen ran out of ink. We'll write it up tomorrow.

Sorry Evander, the wifi is glitching.. let's resume this zoom chat tomorow when the wifi is better.

Yup, probably don’t have anything so this is the ‘suspension’

Regarding Kane... what does one expect when lawyers are involved. Same thing happens at my work when they get involved on a project; 2 days becomes 2 weeks or even 2 months.

Not sure who the other 2 teams are, but if they are good teams, solidly in a playoff position, I'm not sure why he wouldn't want to sign there. Would be playing in the playoffs for sure, and have a much better chance to get another good contract with some success in the post season.

Kane and good decisions aren’t exactly synonymous.

Tweets that Cooper Marody needs to “choke a bitch” to get a call up. Class act.

The guy needs his teeth kicked in talking like that.
Definitely not something an 'insider' would tweet, but he's clearly referring to the old Wayne Brady/Dave Chapelle skit.

Weak attempt at humor.

I wouldn't mind having Husso, but Lindgren has played only 12 games during this and three previous seasons. Even if they are ready to trade Husso I think it would take more than a 2nd.
And? He isn’t costing an A list prospect like Holloway/Broberg and he isn’t fetching a first round pick. If it takes a 2nd and a B list prospect like a Lavoie or Kemp who cares? We overlvalue those types of prospects to the nth degree.

I thought the same but he could be traded at the TDL if it looks like the Oilers are out. Maximize ice time here and play in the playoffs on a contender. Seems like a win-win

Last I heard it was both Florida teams. Only real downside is it would be harder for him to get top line minutes regularly there.

Lets be real. Kane is an elite player and would put up huge numbers with the superstars here. Might be exactly what the PP needs right now also.
