3rd line center, it's the Oilers biggest need right now.

Maroon-McDavid-Strome
Lucic-Draisaitl-RNH
Cagguila-Jokinen-Puljujarvi
Khaira?-Letestu-Kassian

Jagr is a fun idea but Jokinen fills the biggest need IMO.

Why are we paying 6M for RNH to be a winger? Strome will be our 3rd line center, or we'll run Letestu-Khaira in the bottom 6. I can't see Khaira being any worse then Deharnais.

Jokinen was also bought out because their budget was set at 65M.

Anyone know why he was bought out? I know last year when we played Florida Jagr was a lot more noticeable. I dont even remember seeing Jokinen, but he might have been injured in the game I seen.

Budget, and Jokinen played with an injury.
Tallon is trying to replace him with u1M Haapala from Liiga.

They set an internal budget. We're spoiled by our owner who's willing to spend so over-the-cap that it leaked into an entire district.

Drai and RNH could be interchangeable. Drai could take faceoffs then move to the wing afterwards. Mclellan has stated that he wants to put RNH in a more offensive role so putting Drai on his line to relieve him of some responsibilities and bringing in Jokinen would fit that plan.

Jokinen is much better on faceoffs than Strome, both can play wing or center but Jokinen seems to be better at center than Strome is. I think Strome fits well on McDavid's wing. Lots of versatility in this lineup with Jokinen.

Can't it be both?
I know that would definitely take roster space from kids who are ready to be NHL regulars, but I want an Oilers Jagr jersey.

If we signed Jokinen, I'd be playing him on the top line with Mcdavid. He's a far better winger then center from what I've seen. Maroon would drop down to 3rd line and Caggiula plays 4th line.

Jokinen-Mcdavid-Draisaitl
Lucic-RNH-Puljujarvi/Strome
Maroon-Strome/Letestu-Kassian
Caggiula-Letestu/Khaira-Pakarainen

Oilers have somehow pried away Jesus Jankowski from the Flames... unfortunately Drai, McDavid, Larsson, Klefbom & Talbot + 8 1st round picks all had to go the other way.

Still... massive win.

Jussi Jokinen would fit Bob's hint that the Oilers could be looking at a veteran wonger with character. He mentioned this a few days ago. I was hoping it was Iggy, but Jokinen would be a stellar pickup. Didn't even think of him. (For a moment, I was thinking Ollie, and was like wtf.)

I don't think Speedy would put a nodding head for Joikinen. I might be wrong there but I truly believe it is Jagr. I salivate at what he could teach guys like Drai and JJ about puck protection. Also heard a rumor last week his twitter liked a comment about joining the oilers.

Perhaps if the team is struggling, Todd could go to that. That's the beauty of versatility, there's lots of lineups that make sense.

I think that like was from ~6 years ago if I recall correctly.

Id sign him for multiple years for cheap and plan on walking from Maroon next year. If you can get Jussi Jokinen for 2.5M on a 3 year deal that'd be great for the team.

Watch us all get excited, then find out its Jokipakka. Wouldn't be the end of the world, but would certainly be a disappointment with the other two JJs.
