I think it's best if we just let it go at this point. If anything, I think he'll be on Russia radar for the rest of his career, using any means to keep him.
Russia will be done with him soon enough, he just won't be able to play in the NHL if he still wants to unless the Flyers say so. His contract is still registered with the league.

Is the NHL actually going to care that the KHL violated their agreement together? Or are they just going to turn their back and pretend nothing ever happened.

Not much they can do without a transfer agreement. The only thing they could really do is ban Russians and Belarusians from entering the league, and that isn’t happening.

It would be very ironic if the NHL did ban Russians from entering the league, thereby keeping the Flyers from signing Michkov.
