For the 350th time, YES ...THIS IS HIS THING...

No one here should complain since most are enablers.
Yea it's been kind of annoying seeing every thread become a one sided argument on this board. I understand it's a board made for discussion, which leads to arguments, but the arguments those dudes make are so disingenuous that I don't understand why others interact with them.

Oh well. Fire chuck

@Appleyard, how would you compare him to Behrens in the Avs system (U of Denver)?

I like both. Albeit not seen much of Behrens post draft.

Behrens is a better skater for sure.
Behrens gets "caught" out of position more on cycle... Andrae is more of a guy who overcommits at blue-line when mistakes happen.
Andrae has a better shot and is maybe marginally more skilled, better puck control for example.

Both probably realistic #3 upside.

Lol....love your comparison.

Verh. split time in the AHL and ECHL as a 20 and 21 year old. Then a full time AHLer at age 22 and 23.

Hodg. Was in tge OHL at age 20 then split time in AHL and ECHL at age 21, then spent age 22, 23, and 24 as ONLY an ECHLer. And now at age 25, back to being an AHL.

Not close to being the same. But nice try.

But he looked better to deadhead in that one game he’s ever actually seen him play in!

Is there a reason he wasn't selected for the Olympics? I don't pay any attention

He is in Allsvenskan, 2nd tier... he is very good already.
But realistically right now there are for sure like 15-20 Swedish Dmen ahead of him in current ability level outside of North America.

Plus even if he was top 10 or so the current version of the Swedish national team are stuck in the 1990s and left a lot of their more offensively talented players at home for role-players anyway.

Hell, that goes for their junior programme too. Wallinder left at home for WJC despite being a solid SHL Dman, as they already had their "offensive guys".

All that skill gonna be coached out of him so that he can play "Flyers" hockey.

@Appleyard If you would compare Andrae and Ghost. How similar are the two in their playstyle?

Is this accurate? -->
His game is reminiscent of Samuel Girard but this is a stylistic comparison only and not one based on skill and ability.

Emil Andrae Scouting Report: 2020 NHL Draft #43 - Last Word On Hockey

After all i have seen from him he isnt a f***ing flyer! Is it realistic that he get a chance in a top 4 role like York in the AHL? Or will he be buried on the 3rd pair to "earn" his role?

Andrae will probably play in the SHL next year, if he continues to shine, then come over in 2023-24, a short stint in the AHL to be acclimated to NA hockey, then up to the big club by January. That would be similar to Lindblom's career path.

Andrae resembles Timonen in stature. Short and stocky. Makes solid hits, plays really strong D and contributes to the O by following the rush. If he ever plays as well as Kimmo, we’ll be very fortunate. His skating picked up, so there is hope. He needs another year at least in the SHL before coming over.

We all know this kind of offensive play will be beaten out of them...

Yep. Look at the Flyers track history of dealing with young defensemen with offensive upside. They had Janne Niinimaa, who was then dealt for Dan McGillis because ARGH SIIIIZE, and then they had Joni Pitkanen, who was conveniently run out of town because a goon sucker punched him in a practice and there was loyalty to said goon. I won't blame the Flyers for Tertyshny, but he probably would have been dealt anyways. I can't forget about Dennis Siedenberg either because we all know that Petr Nedved was a much needed commodity. We all know how Gostisbehere went down and now we're watching the Flyers piss away Provorov, Sanheim, York and Zamula because defenseman should not skate with the puck or lead rushes or heaven forbid, score. The job is to be nothing more than a physical, hit at all costs type player because that is supposed to strike fear in the opposition's hearts and that's how defensemen are to be developed.

Just wait and see what will happen with Ronnie Attard when he gets here. He's already got the ARGH SIIIIZE quota, so you know that they're salivating at the thought of him hammering bodies. Forget about any sort of skill and ability. It's all about the system, baby!!!!!!!

Another multi-EV-point game yesterday.

2x primary assists.

He could seriously finish over P/GP.

32 in 35 now.

14 in his last 10. Just heads and shoulders above every other Dman in the league the last month or so.
Do we have any idea when perhaps he might come over for a tryout with the Flyers?
