Part of me wanted the Bruins, because it would have been a 'storybook' run going through them, but hard to argue against this outcome. We play the 8th seed instead of the 1st, we don't have to deal with all of nonsense around Boston (officiating, diving), we lock in the 28th overall pick, and we got to see Boston choke away a 3-1 series lead and late lead in Game 7.

Leafs going into the next round over confident isn't ideal. Florida played us hard even in the games we won.

Probably.

But that's not the whole story. Boston opens every series with throwing a barrage of cheap shots at all our players and the refs never do anything about it. I don't think this is going to happen with Florida.

I wouldn't say obviously, personally. They were the better term tonight. Boston showed a lot of flaws this series, but they came in a little battered and Florida made them pay. Still wouldn't want the Bruins. Too many bad memories, and with our luck they probably would have returned to form to start Series 2.
