opposition usually have heavy forcheck; leafs don't. its as simple as that IMO. Opposition clog neutral zone or stand up at the blue line leading to -1) forced dump-ins where leafs hardly recover the puck or 2) leafs try to gain entry with possession turnover the puck and opposition attacks with odd man rush.

its a combination of coaching and players' willingness to engage in physicality IMO.

Shuffling between these four (Giordano, Holl, Gustafsson, Lili) to form a bottom pairing has been a a disaster.
 
Well it was nice that they won a round but they need a miracle like fluky bounces that the ref can't call back for goals. They need like

deflection goals and ugly ones hitting Tampa Bay players and going in. Blast it hard enough their will be rebounds and maybe do one of these on Bob.

Bennett can throw hands good I wouldn’t mind at all to see a great tilt between him and Schenn to get the boys going early

They answer to Bettman who answers to the betting houses that sponsor the NHL. Fan reactions and outrage are a non-factor.

Even on shows like Kyper & Bourne, they have a segment - not a commercial - where the betting lines are discussed and suggestions given on what to do with them, playing with the Leagues approved betting sponsor, of course. **** me.

Honest to goodness, just rotate Gio out. They seem to be giving him the lifetime achievement treatment a la Joe Thornton even though he's really only been in Toronto for a year and is on a league minimum deal. Why not sit him out for a D man who would have led the Leafs in regular season scoring?

Bobrovksky is definitely getting a shutout tonight. He is back in vezina form. No chance the leafs are scoring in him tonight. He is definitely getting a shutout tonight.

Personal bias issues aside, im surprised they have Wes reffing round 2 games. Hes just a bad official

I believe I had heard he is the top rated official by the NHL
For sure he was voted #1 by the players.

I remember the old player poll had him high, maybe even #1. I believe Peel was top 3 as well before they ran him out of the league for the hot mic incident.
