Honestly a very good game after a slow start in the first. Score was close till the ENG, but winning against the Canes where they also didn’t totally dominate possession is significant. Have to steal one on the road for sure, but this was a real good start.

Carbs deserves these kudos for sure. But also deserves the "Dude Sure Likes to Sit on a Lead" award, too...

I mean, that's how they made the playoffs last year.

Adjustments didn’t really occur until 2nd period when our guys started skating.

There wasn't any real adjustments coaching or scheme wise. The Caps just found their playoff energy finally.

True. But he was still able to make those changes. Once he gains experience, these tactical changes will start happening quicker.

Rod, for example, in my opinion, just doesn’t have that flexibility as a coach. His team plays exactly the same way all the time.
