43. The defensive play, the blocks, the great awareness on Carlsons goal, an EN. Unreal game for him.
Too many casual elites there now because the rowdy middle class people have been priced out. I was at the first home game after 895 against Carolina. Not only was there a ceremony for ovi but it was the bloodbath rematch against Carolina and it felt like a pre season game in there.
Love Ovechkin, he’s an absolute legend and has been a rock for Washington his whole career and all that.
That being said, between this season and in this playoffs so far I think this is already viewed as Tom Wilson’s team. It just really feels that way.
I would guess everyone knows what Wilson did, but it doesn’t hurt to pump Carlson’s tires a bit. I’m sure they know he’s been going through it a bit and could use the boost. How can they dis Willy like that?
you're placing way too much emphasis on how much a coach can control within a game.
seemed like the energy was crazy against MTL though no? I think it has more to do with the product on ice so far this series.Too many casual elites there now because the rowdy middle class people have been priced out. Just an aside — I’ve never seen a caps team this good at defending/breaking up odd man rushes, it’s uncanny.Screwing up while counterpunching? Chych did that and TvR bailed him out. We haven't been giving up rushes against, haven't been allowing quality chances. Keep doing that. There's no failsafe for f***ing up in your own end -- every mistake is potentially a chance against or a penalty.
Your showing your politics with that 2nd statement! Not cool man!
This may be the best Caps defence in the Ovie era.Just an aside — I’ve never seen a caps team this good at defending/breaking up odd man rushes, it’s uncanny.
Granted they have had plenty of practice, but still…
And this is why I think next season really will be his last.I feel like Ovi even said something about this recently.
He did lay a couple of hits right as they started to pick it up in the second period. At 39, he may not be able to carry the team on his back, but he's still their emotional leader. Ovi will make his mark on this series just like he did with Montreal.
And to think I wanted to draft Hertl! Forgive my “Czech ancestry” bias.43. The defensive play, the blocks, the great awareness on Carlsons goal, an EN. Unreal game for him.
I have, as recently as mid season this year. still doesn't feel the same as it did during the young guns era when we started to sell out. The arena as a whole just isn't as amped as it used to be and it's noticeably different. You can hear it when you're there and you can really hear the difference on TV between us and other arenas. I'm not saying some of the old crowd isn't still there, I'm just saying the crowd as a whole ain't got it no more. Coming in to rowdy Rock the red capital one used to be a thing for other teams, now nobody talks about it.Come sit in the 400's with us po' folks. Energy is a lot better there.
