This might just be the most important game for this franchise in a long long long time. I expect to see a desperation to our game, like we are literally fighting for our lives, anything less is inexcusable. These guys have a chance to erase a lot of bad karma and finally show their worth, if they fail to show anything less than 110%, then they are truly losers and mentally soft. There is nowhere to hide, tonight is who you are.

GM's vision for team building is certainly in question by a number of people

removing nerves, and prior disappointments from our brains will be tough. I am 30years old and have been a fan of the team since birth. There was only 1 time in my life where this team didn't disappoint, late 90's early 2000's with them waxing the Sens every year. Disappointment has become part of being a Leaf fan unfortunately. But I still won't cheer for any other team. I'm obviously hopeful that they get it done tonight, but I'm well aware of the possibility that they don't. And in a weird way I've come to terms with it already. I really want this win for this core group. I honestly don't care if they win anything beyond tonight. But this core group needs this W in the worst possible way. I have faith in all of the core players, and I really truly believe they can work together eventually. But I just don't know how they can stay together if they lose tonight. There would likely be some changes. I can't remember where I heard the story, maybe it was Bieksa on Chicklets. But this is very very similar to Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago when burrows finally "slayed the Dragon". That group took the next step, once they got over that hump. But they also knew that if they came up short the core group as it was would not be returning the following year. 1 OT goal kept that team together. That team never ended up wining shit, but they became a legit contender for the following 2-3 years. I really think we have a stable foundation. We juts need that nonsense between the ears to go away. Tonight I really really hope there is a major step in that direction. Go Leafs Go!
