For the first time in over 50 years as a leaf fan, I am not excited for tonight.
I’m not nervous, anxious or anything.
I hate feeling this way, but this team does nothing to excite me.
There is no high energy line that Keefe can throw on the ice to sway momentum, lay crushing hits and play heavy.
There is no urgency, no passion or will to compete.
They have broken me. I’ll watch tonight but I just don’t have that feeling about this roster, especially after watching Colorado last night.

This may be the game that decides whether Dubas gets fired and the core gets modified. Dubas is the reason 34 and 16 have as big of a bank account as they do. They should really, really play their hearts out in this one to give atleast a little thanks to Dubas.

LOL who am I kidding, they probably come out with their worst game of the series tonight.

Captain injured
Critical D man injured
"Beloved" Coach's ability in question
The GM that always defends them may be on thin ice
Can begin shaking off 3-4 years of "choking"

If they can't find motivation in there somewhere, then it's time to move on from them.

Not to pile on with the negativity here, but game 7 seems to be the game where this team delivers their worst performances in series. Can include game 5 against Columbus in there too.

Matthews, Marner and Nylander have combined for 1 POINT, 1 FREAKING POINT across the 2 game 7's they've played and the game 5 against Columbus.

I'm already bracing myself for a loss.

Yeah I hope they have not checked out after the 2 OT loses. Time to put on their big boy pants and shed their choke label.

Time for Auston and Mitch to start writing a better legacy for themselves. That's the X-Factor. We're now in a coin toss where a series can be lost with a bad bounce or a weak night for the goalie. That's life, and we're here because those two haven't been where they need to be.

Go Leafs.

It could very well be Marner's last game as a Leaf, I think Matthews is safe regardless and rightly so. 34 is the best player this franchise has ever had.

It's the biggest game of our cores careers tonight, a lot is on the line, for Leaf fans are known for our hyperbole, and most times it is just that.

Tonight is not one of those nights, excuses will not heal any wounds from losing to the Canadiens in a season we won a division, no tonight they must play with fire and passion to show us all who they are. Whether thats who we think and beleaf that is, or not. Its up to them to show us who they really are.

As always, go leafs go.

And this is for J.T

I'm bringing everything out for good luck tonight. My slippers will be on, the blanket will be out, the beer glasses will be out. The posters/banners remain on the wall. Putting my dogs collar and jersey on him, gonna throw my #16 on... And to top it off, i'm putting my Christmas hat on my dads picture and have him watch game 7 with me again. I've been particularly negative the last few days, gonna try anything I can for good luck. As sad as we've all been the truth is, we're all still here. And for the same reason. No matter how many times they break our hearts, we still want to see them win. Whatever happened is done. Game 1,2,3,4,5,6 don't matter at this point. One game left and it's the only one that matters. Hopefully won't be the last time I say it this year but, GO LEAFS GO.

I also made an avatar bet and I really really really don't want to wear a Sabres logo for the next 12 months  so please boys, give us this one.

I'm still partial to some of the Cup winners and the guy that threw the team on his back and carried them to within a bad call of the SCF

I am done playing the victim. The habs are not the Avs or TB. Leafs should and will win tonight. The 10K lbs monkey is heading down the 401 to Montreal where they won't see another play-off game for 4 years. Let's go !!! 5-2 win. 2 empty net goals.

I was nervous as hell for this game.
But not anymore, since PromisedLand made the GDT.

You know how we’d always come back from 3-1 down in past playoffs only to end up losing in a game 7?
Yeah, today is the day we turn the tables.
Today is the day we put our game 7 demons behind us.
Today is the day we actually show up on time.
Today is the day us loyal fans that have stuck with this team through thick & thin are rewarded with a first round series win in nearly two decades.
Today is the day we stop being the biggest joke of the league and shut the haters up.
Today is the day we break the hearts of Habs fans.
Today is the day we dominate in a must win, series clinching game, and advance to the second round to face the Winnipeg Jets.

GO LEAFS GO.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet or not. It was just announced that Muzzin will be out for 3 weeks. To me this is a big blow. As well, this will be the 4th year in a row that he has missed significant time in the playoffs.

Look, Dubas overpaid, especially for Marner, but again, regardless of winning or losing those negotiations, Marner and Matthews were going to be the two most important forwards and were going to be core pieces. Their cap hit is a secondary story to their inability to convert on the ice in this series. And even if you dream up a supplementary piece they could have with savings on better deals, those two STILL need to get the job done.

Marner with the 2 EN goals ??

34 is safe unless you can get McDavid ($1m retained) for him.

T-minus 6 hours or so!

I am starting to get excited. Game 7, vs the Habs. Regardless of how we got here this is something that most of us have not witnessed. A 1 game winner take all... sure hope the boys can find a way to 'start on time'.

After the leafs failed to close it out at home on game 6, I didn't watch game 7 of the second Bruins series. We all knew what would happen... and it did.

I watched game 5 against the Jackets because I thought it would literally be impossible for the leafs to lose to Columbus. COLUMBUS!!!! But of course they lost. Of course they did.

I'll watch tonight. Kind of. But my expectations are at an all time low. I think these core players are spineless cowards and i have NO faith in them at this point... but I hope they prove me wrong.

That's what it really comes down to. Our depth, defense, and goaltending has not been a problem in this series... It's been a major boost if anything. Throwing more money at those areas by taking it away from Marner and Matthews may be enough to get us the one goal we needed to not be in this spot, but does not take away from the fact that Marner and Matthews, regardless of what they are getting paid, have not been putting up the production we expect.

Marner is not even playing well enough to generate that production. He needs to play better. Matthews has played well enough to generate that production but he needs to put some in the net and he also needs Marner to not be a cancer (dead weight is being too generous) on his line and on the PP.

We may be comfortably in the 2nd round right now, but we are not winning the Cup if this is what we are getting from Matthews and Marner over the long haul.

Rough count, 11 goals between them against the Habs this season, in 10 games. 1 in 6 this series.

LOL......I'm the same in all 3 situations you mentioned.
