Well, not the ending we wanted, but I'm ready for the real season to begin. I have no doubts the Canes will be ready.
I'd be more worried about this series if Game 1 was tomorrow. But after a 4 or 5 day break? Just enough time for Nashville to cool off a bit, which isn't a bad thing. Plus, gives us time to rest up, and comes with the added bonus of Brindy questioning their manhood for the rest of the week.

Don't know if this has been brought up yet but we finished up the 2005/2006 reg season in VERY similar fashion to this year.

- Lost our final 2 reg season games
- Game 81 was a close contest that went to OT
- Game 82 we got blanked by Buffalo (ew) 4-0
- We finished with 112 points (tied with Dallas for 3rd) behind Ottawa and Detroit (President's Trophy Winner)

Don't worry guys and girls... we got this :)

I would like to understand one thing, because I read from many places that there is this concern of having lost the last two games and that there may be a momentum that would shift in favor of our opponents.

Do so many people really think that the team, led by the coach we know very well, will be caught unprepared when the puck drops???

I think we only won 1 of the last 5. Lost 2 in OT, maybe.

The President's Trophy shows who is the most consistently good team over the course of an entire season. Its one hell of an accomplishment to achieve and it really annoys me that so many are quick to write it off because its not the Cup. You're talking about a team consistently bringing their A game over 82 games (this year 56) in order to achieve it. Its absolutely an award worth going for and should be better celebrated than it is.

It was a joke.

Worth noting that the Lightning got plastered worse than us against Florida, as their final 2 games were for home ice advantage and the Bolts only rested 2 notable players in the final game. If I were a Lightning fan I wouldn't be worried at all about the last 2 games and I'm certainly not concerned at all about the last 2 Canes games.

Maybe but look who sat for The Preds:

I don't care who's on the ice..have a little pride. All that talk about avoiding picking up bad habits and not taking the foot off the gas rings less than true. Maybe they are way more hurt than they're letting on but going back to the Chicago series...things look less than stellar at the wrong time.

No. The team will be prepared. Look what happened in the play-ins against the Rangers last year after a long lay off.

Will there maybe be some rust that needs to be shaken off? Possibly. But even if this team gets it's ass whooped for a period or two, RBA and these guys know how to win and what's needed.

Nashville may come out flying and hitting everything in sight. It's a 7 game series so sometimes you need to analyze the opponent and adjust accordingly.

That Buffalo game was nationally televised and it was gross. A win would have had our squad playing the Lightning in round 1.
