Prospect Info: Round 1, 7th overall: Matvei Michkov, RW, SKA St. Petersburg (KHL)

Own what? He's played 20 games.

If Drysdale returns to rookie season form and plays the entire of next season healthy, he's going to be a valuable asset going forward. If he does a Walker like job next year, then that really helps out our top 4.

If we can snatch one of the high end D prospects this draft, we're looking good when they come through with Bonk.

York, Sanheim, Drysdale, Bonk + 12th overall looks OK.

Agree, York really looking like a solid 3-4 moving forward. I think Bonk looks a lot better and has progressed much better than people thought, wouldn’t be shocked if he becomes an elite 2 guy, it’s possible, something in the mold of a Devon Toews, we’ll see though.

all we gotta do is copy every other team who gets lucky with draft picks and find like 8 players in the next 2 drafts who are all higher end NHL caliber players. SURELY then we can win the cup and save michkovs career before it already crumbles.

If the Flyers are up for getting a Russian veteran player to help Matvei to get used to NHL and America's life easier, I think Buchnevich will be the best variant. Good player, generally likable anywhere he played, and Tortorella shouldn't hate him (I think).

The question is price, and it looks like STL doesn't wanna let him go, despite it's better for them to start rebuilding.

I think MM dont need a russian veteran. He needs a flyers Veteran. Cause the flyers rulez are way more stupid than veteran nhler or veteran americans could ever imagine! Let him life with Briere he can teach him the ropes of being a real f***ing flyer!
 
Who but Barclay Goodrow can teach Michkov how to PK and play hard nosed, north south hockey? The Flyers have said multiple times now that KHL players need to learn to play the right way in the NHL

Proposed: The last several pages or so provide no real/actual news (maybe they do, but hyperbole sells. It just FEELS like there is no real news). I say, for this thread, there should be a rule where, unless there is news that direct movement and/or progress on Michkov coming over this year, that no one can post in this thread until that occurs. Every time I see there is a new post in this thread, I get excited, only to realize my immense disappointment because no legitimate updates have been posted.

I realize this post is antithetical to that proposal.

The second it is confirmed you will see it everywhere online and social media...coming to HFboards will be secondary to read everyone's thoughts.
