Gabe had 5 assists in the 2 pre-tournament WJC games. All 5 were primary assists.

He’s definitely not making anything close to 80k. I’d be surprised if he’s making anything. One thing I wonder is with NIL money, do some of these guys stay in college if they aren't going to be in the NHL right away?
Perreault's signing bonus would be pretty nice, but an AHL salary on an ELC is not great. Is he making 83k a year at BC? Have to think he could be in the Hobey Baker conversation, he's 3rd in points right now.
If the Rangers have learned anything, it should be that Perreault is in the top 6 and on the powerplay to start next season. Possibly even at the end of this one, but my assumption is the Rangers wont be going deep enough into the playoffs for it to be worth bringing him in early.
It may be what they need to do in order to get him signed though.
The opportunity cost is free tuition, room and board. Add this together vs his AHL salary after taxes and the difference is minimal if any from the financial perspective. He’s definitely not making anything close to 80k. I’d be surprised if he’s making anything.
The signing bonus can be 10% of the contract amount. So a 3 year contract at 950,000 the signing bonus can be 95,000 a year, or maybe 285,000 right out of the gate, rule seems unclear. That’s regardless of NHL or AHL.The opportunity cost is free tuition, room and board. He will get his ELC either way so it’s on both sides of the equation - not an opportunity costThe signing bonus can be 10% of the contract amount. He's going to obliterate this tournament.
