Instead of saying it's pretty good or suspect, I'll put it this way: It's the thing that I'm most concerned about translating to the NHL level.
That’s fair, but I’ll also say while it might be what I’d MOST be concerned with in his game, I’ll also say it doesn’t REALLY concern me. It may be his “weakest” attribute, but only because it doesn’t approach elite like so much of his game.
It’s like saying my weakest subject in school was geometry because I got a B+ while I got A+ in every other subject…

Dean Letourneau next to Will Vote is like Chara next to Zucc. Or Lindross next to Fluery.

They blew that tripping call for sure... quiet 1st period for BC so far, pretty sloppy offensively
That line had 9 shots on goal. 4 each by Gabe and Leonard and 1 by Hagens.

Just a matter of time.

Edit: Correction, Gabe only had 2 shots on goal in the 1st. The College Hockey News site counts all shot attempts for each player, but the play by play only shows 2 on goal.

The line had another 5 shot attempts in the 2nd.

I think when you get a game misconduct in college hockey you're automatically suspended for the next game.
I think they are able to rescind the suspension after reviewing it.

Apparently there was no call orginally either but the team requested a review of the hit and they ended up calling it after. So it probably wasnt anything that insane.

Any chance he joins us in the playoffs? I don't think we really need forwards though.

Never say never, but it's highly unlikely. For one it's a lot to ask of anyone and secondly, as you said, there likely won't be a spot for him.

But ELC slated to start next year and AHL PTO? Yeah 100%

If he truly is up to 178 lbs then he should have little trouble getting to 180+ by the start of camp next year which is basically the baseline I wanted him to hit before making the jump to pro hockey.

Even if the NYR needed forwards, I believe it would be a horrible idea to rush him. I personally don't think introducing him to the NHL with playoff hockey being his first game action (with no camp) would be putting the top prospect in the best position to succeed.
