Just read the Anaheim version of this thread. It is EERIE. The way they talk about McTavish is exactly the same as the way we talk about Schneider. The only two consistent viewpoints over there is that they are all mostly glad to be getting rid of him and they all recognize that the 5th overall would be a stupid expectation. At the same time, several of them think they can get Gavrikov+. Some of them expect Lafreniere. One of them wanted Fox. One wanted Scheider AND Cuylle. The more I look at it, the more Schneider for McTavish straight up makes the most sense. I also feel like they are trying to work the media to get Drury to bargain against himself and put more $$ in the pot.

Who on the Rangers has #11 pick value? They said it's not Laf, so Cuylle or Gabe? I can't imagine that being Schneider.

we don't need to have the equivalent of #11 value. If the Blues are offering that and the Ducks want a pick, they make the trade. If they want a player, we're offering Schneider, and there's no better player on offer, they trade with us.
As others have said, McT is a nice reclamation piece but not a guy where we need to be trying to put together multipart packages to match a nebulous pick value
