Saying both are not good is like saying stubbing your toe and shooting your foot off are both bad.

Olofsson, Bryson, UPL, Comrie…

all still here.

Take a bow Kevyn. Will be the most work you’ve done all year.
I agree. Kevyn should take a bow. Thanks for keeping UPL around and not giving him away for a mid round pick.

Even Olofsson & Byrson have been more than capable depth guys. Good job Kevyn.

Are we sitting UPL in Seattle or Vancouver ?

I think Seattle is the easier win so ride UPL in Detroit and in Seattle.. Levi in Vancouver then UPL the rest of the way

I really don’t get the hope that some are feeling. I mean, good tor anyone that has that but I just don’t see it. 4-3 in March and about to go on a 5 game roadie. Not calling tor it today but I will say at the end of the road trip I foresee a big dose of reality being administered to some fans.

I really hope I’m wrong but I have no faith in this team.

4-2-1 in March. And ended February 4-1. So they're 8-3-1 in their last 12. UPL has been the best goalie in the league since the new year, and Bowen Byram and Ras Dahlin are currently of the most effect defensive pairs in the league. You don't get it thats fine. But I'm not sure why you feel obligated to sharing these negative Nancy thoughts. Am I "expecting" the playoffs? No. Am I expecting to see them play sustained competitive hockey for the rest of the season and make it interesting? Yes.

English is weird. We have re-sign, resign (as in quit) and resign (same meaning as the first). The difference between the three (other than meaning) is pronunciation. For the second one, the S is pronounced like a Z but a translator doesn’t know that.

There’s a reason English is referred to as “three languages in a trench coat”.

I cant believe this franchise chooses to lock Krebs into the 5th most important forward spot when he has never shown even a glimpse that he would be decent at it relative to good teams' 3C defensive centers

Even if they like him, they don't have to say publicly that he gets the spot 6 months before the competition is even supposed to start. They not only won't look to upgrade it, they aren't even going to try to give him competition

For a team with a gluttony of young forward prospects, our NHL forward group is a big mess. With Quinn healthy feel like we still need one more Top-6 winger, and the bottom 6 leaves a lot to desire outside of Girgensons, Greenway and Peterka

How are you feeling a few hours later?

This team is what they are. A soft, perimeter team that can compete when the other opponent doesn’t play with an edge.

Preach.

It's almost as if we are run by people who are absolutely unqualified for the positions they hold or something.

Who knew that the "legend of Krebs" band leaders were in the Sabres FO? To be more serious, it's typical for a GM to orchestrate a previous acquisition into a more prominent role whether they deserve it or not. The ole' self-affirming move. KA can't be serious if he just goes after a 4C this summer.

I believe it was just "GM speak" when answering a tough question about "how does the team, which is short on center depth, replace a prominent center you just traded away?".

The reality is that Krebs now has a 20 games audition for the part. If he fails, I would hope that Adams realizes that he should at least try to address the position by adding some competition for camp

I wouldn't read too much into statements made by any GM when trying to defend against the media, who are paid to often play devil's advocate and ask tough questions.

This is the same thing people said last March. And then the summer moves never came.

You are remembering last March and last Summer differently than I am. Or maybe our realities are just different.

I remember Last March, the team had that 2-10 stretch when Sammy went down, and Granato playing Bryson on the top pair and playing his 3rd D pairing 10 minutes a game, and often less, (dropping to a sometimes ridiculous 5 and 8 minutes when the season was on the line) and myself saying, "Adams has to upgrade the defensive depth".

And then in the Summer, I remember Adams adding 3 new D that brought more experience and skill to the position and depth chart.

I guess for posters who were screaming for a long-shot top pairing upgrade, that reality didn't happen, but I don't believe that was ever realistic to begin with, given the list of available players and NMCs around the league.
