If Mitts is being traded to BOS, get ready for a package of futures.
That seems like the worst possible outcome. Given how this timeline is going, I suppose I should expect it.

Yeah I don’t even think Adams would do that. I’m scared, yes, but not convinced. That seems like the worst possible outcome. Given how this timeline is going, I suppose I should expect it.
Pagnotta is the worst, but any Casey trade is happening in the offseason anyway.

Maybe they’re looking at Johnson or something like that.
EJohnson seems like he'll be desired by teams looking for experience in a depth defenseman for the playoffs. I wonder what sort of agreement the Sabres have with him to move him at the deadline.
“I’m not going to (general manager) Kevyn Adams asking to get moved. I’m sure he’ll come to me if there’s anything that pops up and then I’ll have to make a decision. But my focus is on the guys. I really care about the success of the team and the players. And I’m not looking outside right now.”
I read somewhere that he had no trade protections but out of respect to the player wouldnt just deal him blind. Which used to be a nice story and at this point I couldn’t care less because he’s supposed to do what’s best for the team. All we ever hear is he does right by players on the way out. Screw em while they’re here I guess.EJohnson seems like he'll be desired by teams looking for experience in a depth defenseman for the playoffs. With trade deadline looming, ace penalty killer Erik Johnson not looking to move on from Sabres

If EJ himself is to be believed, there is no agreement in place.......and EJ is saying publicly he wants to stay.
Seems reasonable. It would be stupid to burn a relationship with a respected Cup winner trying to squeeze some sort of mid-round pick out of someone.
I’ll just say that I disagree - he had one legendary scoop and that was about it.Pagnotta isn't nearly as bad as guys like Dreger or Friedman, and has actually been more successful and accurate than those 2 dating back to last year's trade deadline.
Relationship aside, I don’t want to lose one of the few wisemen on the team for any period of time, for any reason outside of maybe a 1st.Seems reasonable. It would be stupid to burn a relationship with a respected Cup winner trying to squeeze some sort of mid-round pick out of someone.
Expecting him to be dealt to Toronto For whatever reason.![]()

Or cap dumps. If Mitts is being traded to BOS, get ready for a package of futures.
So by that same logic doesn't Adams deserve to be fired for not firing and moving on from a coach that can't get it done? That's like any business not moving on from a manager that isn't interested in managing a company.Murray deserved to be fired for not firing and moving on from a coach that wasn’t interested in developing/coaching the roster. That’s like any business not moving on from a manager that isn’t interested in managing a company.
This is coming from probably the only person on these boards that was completely fine with the majority of his roster moves even with the flaws.
This depends on how you see things I guess. Murray basically had a two year period where he was trying to win and topped out at 81 points. This is year two of Adams trying to win (sort of?) and he topped out at 91 last year. We aren't getting to 91 points this year, but we could get higher than 81 still. Not defending Adams for what has happened this season, but not sure how one could conclude his accomplishments are worse than Murray's.So by that same logic doesn't Adams deserve to be fired for not firing and moving on from a coach that can't get it done? The difference here is that Adams has had twice as long as Murray to move on from Granato and the results have been worse. And there's no expectation that either will be fired.
The year before Adams got here the team had 68 points in 69 games. This depends on how you see things I guess.
