Moulson and Gionta aren't going anywhere. Moulson would never waive. he LOVES Buffalo.

We've got to be making another trade... No?

Moulson..Gionta.. Foligno.. Des... Larsson..

One has to go I would think..in addition to Hodgson.

At least one of Moulson, Gionta, Foligno, Des, Larsson, McGinn and Legwand. At least one.

And yeah, as others have flagged, Moulson & Gionta look to be the only two locks not to go anywhere.

Other developments have to follow somehow...

I think Foligno is trade bait in getting a young LHD ( middle pair type) who is 22-24 yr old range.

Girgensons-Oreilly-Eichel
And eventually shifting to:
O'Reilly - Eichel - Girgensons

Kane-Reinhart-Ennis
I've wanted Kane on Reinhart's wing since the trade. Speedy wingers with Reinhart's passing, defense, and hockey IQ.... perfect.

Moulson-Larsson-Gionta
Really wanted Compher on Larsson's wing.... oh well.
Future: Foligno - Larsson - Fasching

McGinn-Legwand-Deslauriers
Future: McGinn - Schaller/Kea - Carrier

Oh my, our forward group is stacked, and YOUNG.

I wonder who goes to wing... Girgensons seems like the obvious choice since I doubt he leaves the top 6, particularly with Larsson available for third line duties.

I guess the question is if Reinhart can play wing next season... I think they break in Eichel as second line center.

He also played d midgame if players were out.

Yep, he was officially a d at times last year too.

I'm suggesting his offensive game was so pathetic that he was an unofficial 7th dman the balance of the time.

Like his passion/heart, don't get me wrong, but the kid has next to nothing for offensive talent.

I'd love to see Hodgson go for any pick back, as I firmly believe a buyout is coming.

Being just one year removed from a 20 goal season, someone will take to plunge and offer up a pick for his services. I don't want any part of the cap hit, however small.

He's also only 1 year off from 3 campaigns in the top 6 league-wide and 2 seasons leading his bottom dweller in production. I'd really like to see the kid moved, as in traded, not beaten down more with a buyout that in large part would owed to being moved out of his natural center spot to make way for career grinders (ie: Flynn), career wingers (ie: Foligno), AHL call-ups (ie: Schaller) and career grinder winger AHL call-ups (ie: Ellis) to toy at pivot.

Oh, and yeah, also it'd be swell if Buffalo didn't have the cap sting for 8 years forward :D

Really good group of under-25 (currently) players on the NHL roster--or very close to the roster--right now:

Jack Eichel (18)
Sam Reinhart (19)
Rasmus Ristolainen (20)
Zemgus Girgensons (21)
Jake McCabe (21)
Johan Larsson (22)
Mark Pysyk (23)
Evander Kane (24)
Ryan O’Reilly (24)
Zach Bogosian (24)
Marcus Foligno (24)
Robin Lehner (24)
Tyler Ennis (25)

What is McGinns contract?

Last year of his deal, $2.95M.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's on the way back out sooner rather than later. He's got nothing on Foligno, for example, across the board (age, production, d-game, versatility, community connection, etc.), and I'm not even a major Foligno fan.

Just not seeing both of McGuinn and Legwand sticking.

They are not getting anything for those players unless you want a couple 6th round picks.
