Who's the better skater? Barzy or Larkin?Still dumbfounded someone here thinks Larkin isn't a good skater....
Please look up their stats and career..thank youThat’s how some justify Barzal being the better player
The stats say Larkin scored 30 goals each of the last five seasons. Barzal has only hit 20 once since his rookie season. Please look up their stats and career..thank you
Of course I 100% agree with that. Now imagine if Barzal had someone at forward with even half the skill and IQ that Schaefer has.The isles historically have not been good in 3v3 ot until last year. What was different? Schaefer. Guys like Barzal and Horvat benefited from Schaefer. Let’s give credit where credit is due.
Which player scores more goals, has become a consistent 30 goal scorer, kills penalties, is better at face offs, plays center, plays for his country. thank you. Please look up their stats and career..thank you
Is that all some of you care about is goals? Mitch Marner has only scored 30 goals twice in 10 years. Are you going to sit there and tell me that Larkin is better than Marner? The stats say Larkin scored 30 goals each of the last five seasons. Barzal has only hit 20 once since his rookie season.
Sure but I could say the same thing about Horvat.Of course I 100% agree with that. Now imagine if Barzal had someone at forward with even half the skill and IQ that Schaefer has.
We were asked to look up their stats. Is that all some of you care about is goals? Mitch Marner has only scored 30 goals twice in 10 years. Are you going to sit there and tell me that Larkin is better than Marner?
i was hgihlighting how they do not bring a similar effect to the game. If you want to trade Barzal to restock the pipeline I’m alo for it.Let's say he makes the team slightly better now, why do we want that? I'd rather just move Barzal for the futures we need.
Bo Horvat?Of course I 100% agree with that. Now imagine if Barzal had someone at forward with even half the skill and IQ that Schaefer has.
Oh my god, I can't freaking believe you guys are bring up the goals AGAIN. HOW MANY times have we said...Barzal is a f***ing playmaker, not a goal scorer. The stats say Larkin scored 30 goals each of the last five seasons. Barzal has only hit 20 once since his rookie season.
yes Larkin is such a great two way player. Yet he's a -100 in +/- for his career. And where has he made any of his teammates better? thank youWhich player scores more goals, has become a consistent 30 goal scorer, kills penalties, is better at face offs, plays center, plays for his country. thank you.
I’ll take the first, pass on the second. Eiserman is either score goals or not, no matter who is passing the puck to him.Yet but if your first line is Horvat-Ritchie and your 2nd line Barzal-Eiserman...I think that could be pretty good....then you have Danny Nelson coming up to take over the 3rd line center
For the record I don’t think it makes overly great sense to trade Barzal for Larkin, but this isn’t the original statement you made. You said Larkin isn’t a great skater and is instead just average.Who's the better skater? Barzy or Larkin?
Not willing to give it a look? It wasn't too long ago. Everyone in this forum was raving about Eiserman, couldn't wait to draft him. Couldn't wait to he got to the big club. Now everyone is just like, meh.....I’ll take the first, pass on the second. Eiserman is either score goals or not, no matter who is passing the puck to him.
ok for the record, where is the statement from hockey people that Larkin is a great skater...I just hear it from you and few guys here. Doesn't compare skating wise with Barzal, that I will state for the record. For the record I don’t think it makes overly great sense to trade Barzal for Larkin, but this isn’t the original statement you made. You said Larkin isn’t a great skater and is instead just average.
And where has Barzal made any player better. And +- is not a good metric for defensive play. If Barzal was such a good defensive player he would kill penalties like Larkin. thank youyes Larkin is such a great two way player. Yet he's a -100 in +/- for his career. And where has he made any of his teammates better? thank you
oh ok....I see, stats are only worth anything when it suits your argument...Got it!And where has Barzal made any player better. And +- is not a good metric for defensive play. If Barzal was such a good defensive player he would kill penalties like Larkin. thank you

I’ll say I’m not one of those who put elite sniper savior on the wall, nope. Not willing to give it a look? It wasn't too long ago. Everyone in this forum was raving about Eiserman, couldn't wait to draft him. Couldn't wait to he got to the big club. Now everyone is just like, meh.....
You wanted stats. Are goals not included in stats?Oh my god, I can't freaking believe you guys are bring up the goals AGAIN. HOW MANY times have we said...Barzal is a f***ing playmaker, not a goal scorer.
Barzal in 9 seasons is averaging 59 pts
Larkin in 11 years is averaging 58 pts
Larkin has been the 1C for Detroit for 9 of the 11 seasons. First two seasons it was an old Zetterburg. Barzal was the 1C for what 7 seasons first 2 behind JT
Oh, and your great two way player in Larkin. A career -100 +/-
and the horrible defesnive guy Barzal +20 for his career.
Oh and the argument you guys have with Barzal is he doesn't make anyone better on his team....Hmmm, what has Larkin done??
I'm in no way saying he would or could be our savior. But why can't the islanders develop a top goal scorer? Who was the last one? I think we are due. Why cant we catch lightning in a bottle for a change.I
I’ll say I’m not one of those who put elite sniper savior on the wall, nope.
Jason Robertson doesn’t have any special set up guy and scores lots and lots of goals.
They are...and he's a scorer, Barzal is a playmaker....and if you add up their points. They avg the same per year 58 for Larkin, 59 for Barzal. You wanted stats. Are goals not included in stats?
what stats? You can’t use team stats when comparing players. Barzal gets more assists. Larkin scores more goals, wins more face offs, kills penalties, is a team captain and plays for his country.oh ok....I see, stats are only worth anything when it suits your argument...Got it!![]()
