This is true. I betting a lot on Eiserman ending up being one of the Islanders greats. Don’t know if I’m ready to part with Barzal just yet.

He's going to be shit if we don't have a good playmaker for him!
If we're lucky Eiserman is a basically Mike Hoffman 2.0...
He's actually a pretty decent passer, I just don't feel good about his ability to create offense. He's a complimentary piece with an elite skill (shot). He's going to be shit if we don't have a good playmaker for him!
Hence why Barzal is such an interesting pair with him. He's actually a pretty decent passer, I just don't feel good about his ability to create offense. He's a complimentary piece with an elite skill (shot).
Barzal + Eiserman will be the most telegraphed pairing in the history of the NHL.Hence why Barzal is such an interesting pair with him.
Idk if this is enough honestly. Too many unknowns.Picks 4, 34, 45, Moore, Rinzel, and West.
Give Bedard what he wants.
Kinda like the Barzal + Horvat version - the same reason it gets broken up routinely.Barzal + Eiserman will be the most telegraphed pairing in the history of the NHL.
Lmao you have an answer for everything. Do you even watch the games? Horvat is completely useless every single time Barzal isn’t out there. They were broken up routinely to further prove my other point that THEY AREN’T GETTING OFFENSE FROM ANY OTHER LINES!!!!! McDavid and Draisaitl are sometimes broken up also. I guess they suck huh? It’s called Barzy and Horvat are both natural centers and looking to spark offense on more than just 1 line. Almost every single team and coach does it when needed. Maybe if the Isles had more legit top 6 players not named Barzal, Horvat and Holmstrom they would be able to keep Barzal and Horvat together.Kinda like the Barzal + Horvat version - the same reason it gets broken up routinely.
Yet but if your first line is Horvat-Ritchie and your 2nd line Barzal-Eiserman...I think that could be pretty good....then you have Danny Nelson coming up to take over the 3rd line centerKinda like the Barzal + Horvat version - the same reason it gets broken up routinely.
Just incase you didn’t know.. Barzal was on the ice for 26 of Horvat’s 31 goals. You really need to direct your hate to other players on the roster who deserve it way more than Barzal does. Most of what you say just isn’t even factually correct. It’s opinion based.Kinda like the Barzal + Horvat version - the same reason it gets broken up routinely.
No matter what you say… Throttle will have an excuse. What he said isn’t even factually correct. Barzal was on the ice for 26 of the 31 goals Horvat scored this season. Most of the opinions that Throttle has should actually be directed towards a player like Horvat.Yet but if your first line is Horvat-Ritchie and your 2nd line Barzal-Eiserman...I think that could be pretty good....then you have Danny Nelson coming up to take over the 3rd line center
I wouldn’t try to fit players to the coach. When he’s fired in 2 or 3 years we’re going to be stuck with a player that doesn’t match the replacement coach. They need to decide what type of team and system they want to construct- fast, dynamic, creative or slow, grinding, and methodological and build that sort of team. I’m hoping for the former to match Schaefers style. Barzal and Schaefer go together like peanut butter and jelly as we all witnessed. Why deny Schaefers that? Now I can’t take you serious. Larkin is absolutely a great skater. His edge work is phenomenal and his straight line speed and acceleration is near the top in the league. Hes great in transition too and he also forechecks and plays a 200ft 2way game.
Id argue hes a much better fit for DeBoer than Barzal is.
Like I said, I wasn’t even thinking about Barzal, but the fact that you mentioned it got the wheel wheels turned and it actually makes sense. I would definitely make a trade center around these two guys and I think it would help both teams.
Same as Trottier and Bossy. It didn’t matter it’s going in. That’s what I think Eiserman brings. The “no timer”. He may just have the best release I’ve seen from an Islander since Bossy. Not worried if goalies see it coming. They ain’t going to be able to stop them pucks. Barzy is a perfect complement for Eiserman to hone his skill.Barzal + Eiserman will be the most telegraphed pairing in the history of the NHL.
A decent passer can’t create offense because he’s never been a goal scoring type of player? He’s an excellent skater with elite play making ability and this is what we all expected. How many OT winners last season came off of Barzal’s stick or was set up by Barzal? Horvat scored 5 goals all season without Barzal on the ice by the way. He's actually a pretty decent passer, I just don't feel good about his ability to create offense. He's a complimentary piece with an elite skill (shot).
I would love to trade Horvat if it meant using the return + to acquire Larkin. Larkin and Barzal would feed families. With Larkin requesting a trade. The HF Forum has been blowing up with fans wanting to trade for him. Seems like a lot of interest from Chicago...with some crazy offers. One, I saw involved Frondell. With that said, if Chicago would accept. Would you deal Horvat for Frondell and something small? Seems chicago fans seem to value Larkin more than Barzal because Larkin is a better center (faceoffs) than Barzy and are concern that Barzy isn't a true center since he played wing the last 2 years.
I would do this in a heartbeat - Frondell, something small (Player) and our 2026 pick for Horvat?
The chicago fan offered Frondell and Rinzel for Larkin.
what about Frondell and moving Horvat to Chicago...other pieces would have to fill things outI would trade Horvat in a second if it meant adding Larkin. Larkin and Barzal would feed families.
I just edited my comment… I meant to say that I’d love to trade Horvat and then use what we got in a return to go after Larkin. We might have to add but that’s fine.what about Frondell and moving Horvat to Chicago...other pieces would have to fill things out
It would help Islanders now because we’d be acquiring a player with finishing ability and can play on PP1.But that's not fair, Larkin's teammates haven't been as good as Barzal's. If he had better linemates he'd be 100 point player and score 40 goals!(sounds ridiculous when you play this game with players on other teams)
Seriously, they're probably similar in terms of their impact on the ice. Larkin scores more goals but gets less points. I'm not interested in that kind of swap because that's not helping the Islanders now or in the future.
I would argue that Detroit has way better offensive talent than the Trotz teams ever had. They just haven’t figured it out in goal and find a way to always choke a playoff spot away.I’d much rather younger talent as well but Larkin is the same age as Barzal. Also, hockey isn’t basketball where one star can carry your team to the playoffs.
The isles historically have not been good in 3v3 ot until last year. What was different? Schaefer. Guys like Barzal and Horvat benefited from Schaefer. Let’s give credit where credit is due.A decent passer can’t create offense because he’s never been a goal scoring type of player? He’s an excellent skater with elite play making ability and this is what we all expected. How many OT winners last season came off of Barzal’s stick or was set up by Barzal? You want to keep Barzal? Fine. Just get him off our power play altogether.
