That seems like a pretty good return, although if the pick is transferred to 2027, that is a very deferred asset. Pretty sure the 2026 draft is supposed to be better than this year, so I'm fine with the later first round pick.
Edit: obviously just a contract out -
As for Kylington, I would think that is just to move out a contract slot, but who knows if Lou has anything going on to move bodies out on D.

Damn, now can you imagine if Lou went hard and flipped Pageau, Kyle and perhaps Lee for a bunch of other high end picks and prospects in this sellers market? Might have something to look forward to for the first time in awhile

That's too much at one deadline. I think the chances of Pageau and Palmieri getting traded now is slim, but I'd say those two and Lee as 0% chance of happening.

Why? If it's a sellers market and we can get something good for them and with the trade of Nelson this team is officially dead as far as winning a cup this year or next why not try and unload this year and next years FA's if the price is right

GMs, and especially guys like Lamoriello, don't want to disrupt their locker rooms that much. You're talking about moving out 5 regulars (because a defenseman still needs to be dealt) in 24 hours.

I don't disagree with the idea, I just don't think we'll see anything that drastic. If we see Palmieri, Pageau, and a defenseman go we should be happy. Lee will have value over the summer if Lamoriello wants to move him then.

no conditions.
There is a conditional 3rd if the Avalanche win the cup and Nelson plays a certain amount of games.
I meant what conditions determine whether it’s 2026 or 2027, but I see now those details have been released.

@periferal how we feeling baby

Very very relieved.

Wish we could find out all the other offers on the table. NYI scouts must love Richie. I'm reading mixed things on him, but sounds like he does have potential. As with any other asset he can always be flipped himself, but this was all VERY VERY NECCESSARY.

So many other options on the table now. Trade Palmeiri for a late 1st (or a 2nd+) and then we can fully focus on getting rid of Lou before the draft.

Assuming Ritchie plays at Bridgeport, and hopefully that means new coach and more support for these young players.

Ritchie scouting -

If Colorado's 2025 1st is top 10, then 2026 goes to Philly. I doubt Colorado's 1st drops into the top 10.
I think there's a center role for him to win in camp, assuming no one is signed.

Make no mistake though... most likely scenario is that we're in for a world of hurt for the rest of this season and the next
