No disrespect to other women who have been in roles before, but I feel like Kenzie has the 'it' factor that great announcers have that other women haven't really had (imo).

One issue a lot of people have is a higher voice can not be pleasant to listen to when exciting things are happening. Kenzie has a great voice for this, very easy on the ears and when excitement happens can give energy with the same comfort.

I think 'trailblazers' is overused sometimes, but it really feels like Lalonde will be to play-by-play what Christine Simpson was to reporting. That is, someone overtly talented that will change minds. A great call is a great call.

Cheryl Pounder next to her was also great.

She's pretty good, but I thought Cheryl Pounder was fantastic as a color commentator. No joke, I think she may be the best color commentator, men or women.

Kenzie is an excellent play by play announcer as a rookie, love her calls of Sens games.

Cheryl Pounder is fantastic as colour or any analysis she does. Great mind for the game.

I agree Cheryl is amazing as well but I felt she was a lot more established (she is always on the main panel for TSN for several years now). She actually breaks down plays which is something a lot of former NHL players who "know the game" can't do

Knowing the game doesn’t automatically mean you’re capable of expressing your knowledge in ways that others can understand. Likewise, being able to do that doesn’t necessarily mean you were a great player.

Kenzie is a great up-and-comer - Pounder is an absolute pro. TSN needs to move away from the gimmick games and hand the reigns over.

Women don't make good sports Play by Play announcers. :dunno:
