So basically what you’re saying is blame the Mets for the Islanders having a terrible power play. I’m all for it.
Penguins just waived Jarry. Would have to think they’d be considering Hogberg if we waive him.
Something to consider down the road. I believe we could send Varly to Bridgeport for “conditioning” to prolong this anyway. I don’t think I’d jump to the conclusion that Hogberg has totally usurped Varly yet, I’d probably lean towards waiving him. I don’t think we should let 2 starts and spot relief as great as they’ve been be the reason to get rid of a long term proven NHL goalie.
Hard call to make
OMG. How much did Lou pay Kypreos? I don't care what Mayfield's plus minus is, he has regressed big time. Please TOR, take him off our hands. (And I was a big fan of Scott).View attachment 961507
Article also includes Brock and Palms, obviously
Real Kyper's Trade Board 2.0: Tight races and interesting UFAs
Usually at the midseason, the contenders and pretenders begin to separate and we have an idea who's going to buy and sell on the trade market. Not so in 2024-25, where the standings are tight, especially in the Eastern Conference. Nick Kypreos updates his trade board, with a look at the market...www.sportsnet.ca

I’d certainly like to see our GM rearrange something to at least let us know he’s trying !Dubas needs to rearrange the deck chairs so it looks like he’s doing something.
Mayfield has been a good warrior and I say this still having respect for him, but he is skating with two cinderblocks on his feet this season. He isn't beating anybody to any pucks. His race win % is zero. It's tough to watch. Every play he makes is a reach while standing still. It's only going to get worse from here.OMG. How much did Lou pay Kypreos? Go for the cup . Nelson and Palmieri for a first , Lambert , and a couple pizzas from Joes on 14th street..Jets looking to acquire a top 6 forward, preferably a center.
Would the Islanders possibly move a player like Nelson or Barzal or another player?
What price would it take?
Jets top young players would be Perfetti, Kupari, Heinola, Stanley.
Top prospects: Yager, Lambert, Chibrakov, Salamonsson, Barlow.
1st round pick.
Yager or Barlow works for me in exchange for NelsonJets looking to acquire a top 6 forward, preferably a center.

The 16th Place Trophy is ours!No way, should they trade Mayfield and if they did they should not eat any $ either.
What type of return are we talking about - because it won't be a first.
The team should look to compete next season and Mayfield will be part of the solution.

Chevy is pretty conservative though so I doubt it
Regressed?
No, he’s always been who he’s been
If he was left handed? Would’ve never made it past the AHL
Yes, he’s big, he’s right handed, somewhat physical
As for playing hockey? The puck is a hand grenade to him, he’s an icing machine and really not that smart
Hagens falls to #2 on ONE scouting list.

Is it harder to find a Quinn Hughes or a Jack Hughes?incredible he would lose the spot to Schaefer after that world juniors.
Hagens scores 5 goals and 9points in 7 games. Schaefer breaks his collarbone and has to miss 3 months. True Canada fell off without him, but it's not like they played their best roster.
You can't teach size, and Hagens doesn't have it. He's either going to be an exceptional talent or a bust -- no in-between -- and teams not willing to take the risk so high in the draft is probably going to cost him. Also, FWIW, Button's January mock draft (post WJC) has him 4th.incredible he would lose the spot to Schaefer after that world juniors.

He’s not going to bust, worst case he’s a productive top 6 player and never becomes a star. He likely plays wing at the NHL level. You can't teach size, and Hagens doesn't have it.
