You must have been amazing at hitting the word count in school assignments

Probably. My teachers kept on writing KISS! on all my school papers. Clearly they all loved me!
I was always on the other end of that spectrum struggling to make the page/word minimum on my assignments.

In my high school English class I squeezed the margins on one of my papers so much that my teacher drew vertical lines along each side and wrote “Post No Bills” in the margins. I got the message and we both had a good laugh.

Perif, the problem with this line is that Barry as GM has done EXACTLY what you criticize LL for. All other things being equal, I doubt Roy would mimic that.

This is the whole point - It's not that I want Trotz, but rather how little I want Roy. I've already made a bunch of detailed posts about why, but as simply as I can say it...

All of the stats/measurables say that Roy has been terrible at his job...And I think it's insane to promote someone who isn't good at their current job. By that logic why not just promote Chris Lamoriello. I mean he does have a good last name...And has more GM experience thatn Roy. Who cares if he's been any good at it?

For those here who want to give Roy a pass. This is why you don't and he must go with Lou and everyone else. Need a new fresh start with entire organization.

Stefen Rosner
@stefen_rosner
Roy said if he could go back, he would have put more of an emphasis on PP/PK at training camp.

Roy knew, shit everyone in our organization knew how bad our special teams were and are. And this was an after thought to Roy.

No thank you, he's not a good coach. He a PR guy.

This.

Here's the tweet:

This is the guy some of you want to be in charge of all drafting, trades, free agent signings, and picking a coach? Just insanity.

You're being fooled because Roy is a great speaker and we can relate to his passion. However I think some of you are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. You just want the devil you know and are scared of trying something new.

While I'm not in favor of it now, I'm open to Roy being GM...But only if a THOROUGH search is performed first. It would be ownership malpractice to promote a guy with no GM experience just because he's here already.

I read (heard) that as being more hands on, as in not happy withe the work the assistants put in.

I don’t think Roy even wants the position as he commented previously how difficult it is to hold both coaching and management duties so why is his name even being brought up for GM?

His comments on management when he joined the Isles:

“Zero interest in management,” Roy said. “And that’s the first thing I told Lou. Even at the end of my days in Colorado, Joe was our GM, and he was making most of the decisions. Yeah, he would come downstairs and ask my opinion on things, but I had zero interest in management [in New York].

I for one have no problem with him taking over and should that ever happen, I stake any hockey knowledge I have that it will be successful!

I have little doubt as well that he would be successful as a GM. Few may know that he was a co-owner, GM, and coach of the Quebec Remparts and coached them to the Championship Memorial Cup his first year in 2005 and returned in 2023 to GM and coach them to their last championship. Most agree that last years Remparts were the most structured and dominant team to have ever played in the QMJHL. 4 Stanley Cups, 3 Conn Smyths, 3 Vezinas, and 1 Jack Adam’s on top of that and you have to wonder is there any player in the NHL who has accomplished as much greatness as Patrick Roy?

I thought something like Mailloux + 1st Calgary/Florida + ???
So basically Dobson for a mid-late 1st, overhyped prospect and whatever fluff the remainder would be (a mediocre prospect/overrated bottom 6 player)? Yeah, not going to work. This draft isn’t deep enough after the top 4 where the pick is worthwhile and Mailloux doesn’t move the needle. Upgrade the prospect to a high end forward instead of defenseman and we can start there. Dobson eventhough on a down year still has major value. The offer sent was basically what a 30 year old top 6 UFA with a sign and trade type of deal has been going for.

Anybody here would be up for trading #13 and a Pick or Prospect for Elias Pettersson?
Seems like there is Smoke coming from Vancouver....
Barzy probably would not mind going home either....
He makes $11.5 per season so it means we would have to dump around 2.4 Mil in Salary someplace just to make room for him....
This is the Talent you want to build around....

I would make that deal. Barry and Casey would offset the cap.

You have to talk to Horvat about Pettersson first, were they linemates?

I’d do that deal but Isles need to add. Cizikas is a salary dump and Barzal alone doesn’t get you EP. Dunno if Cizikas even fills a need but can’t see him being part of this proposed swap.

I don't want to move Brazal right now. I understand we are possibly talking about EP but he looks bad now as well. I think any deal of that type of magnitude would need to be discuss in the offseason with hopefully a new GM and Coach to see what direction they want to go in.

The main thing we have to do NOW is move Nelson and Parms. Can not, I mean, I can't stress this enough. We can not lose these guys for nothing or pennies on the dollar.

What we have to understand, we don't have many pieces to move that will garner a good return. So it's so important we move these guys now before the value goes down.

I don't think Brazal, Dobson, Sorokin, Horvat, Romanov, Holmstrom and Pulock are going anywhere for the time being.

Those were the worst. Basically teaching kids how to write hundreds of words without actually saying anything.

"DINOSAURS"

The topic of this paper is dinosaurs. There are many very, very interesting aspects of dinosaurs, and in this paper I will discuss many of them (the aspects). This is not a current events paper, because dinosaurs no longer exist. Well, they do, but they are stuffed or just bones or otherwise not living. In other words, they're not doing much these days and are not creating news, unless they are discovered (their bones) and put back together or stuffed and put in a museum. Having laid the groundwork for the paper, I will now tell you all about dinosaurs, focusing mostly on when they were living, but the "just bones" aspect will also be discussed when relevant.

That’s so old the last time I heard that I fell off my pet dinosaur.

Just food for thought:

Everyone wants EP40 from Van, but let's look at him and this situation a little deeper.
  • He's making $11.6 for the next 7 years.
  • He's had problems with Miller
  • From what I thought, he had problems or Hovart had problems with him.
  • His GM just made a statement in the press that EP needs to grow up and mature. That he can't have everthing his way.
To me, I'm not sure if I'm going to trade for a spoiled brat. Especially when the package is going to be a huge one.
