The whole team could stand to learn the old Bossy formula - get your shot off as quickly as possible without looking (much, or at all) and aim for where you think the middle of the net is, and chances are you'll "miss" and hit a corner or catch the goalie moving and put it under his arm or something.

Tsyplakov scored a goal earlier this season that was an incredibly fast release. And don't laugh, but Barzal has a great release... he just thinks too much to use it frequently enough....

It's really not rocket science. Get shots off faster, and rush the net to create screens and get rebounds.

People are very quick to forget that the top line was absolutely cooking before Duclair went down. Was only a few games obviously but Duclair has a track record of success playing with guys like Barkov, Kucherov and Brady Tkachuk and was immediately meshing with Barzal and Horvat.

The thing that has hurt him over his career is that he seems to be made of glass and we’re experiencing that firsthand right now. As long as he’s not hampered by the groin he should go back to being effective when he’s back on the ice.
You should forget, it’s the first ten games of the regular season. Teams are figuring things out, scrubs that made the team are playing NHL games and 9 game rookies are playing, new systems are being worked on, etc.

This is why winning in March and April with things on the line is harder and viewed as a premium. Playing great in the first 10 games, with 70 to go ain’t so hot.

The Duke-Barzal-Horvat line was not gonna last. It would be countered bc it would be predictable just like Horvat-Barzal-anyone was.

Ok I’ll continue to throw out stats because they don’t fit your narrative lol. God forbid anything contradicts Throttle’s crystal ball

It’s also another way for “slow” teams to play a bit faster. Tempo is different than speed.

Both . . . why choose? Romanov / Pelech / George . . . Dobson / Pulock / Mayfield
I guess because if we feel comfortable-ish with George in the top 4, it would give us the opportunity to try and move Pelech in the offseason and replace him with a player of Roy’s choosing that may help clear out some salary. There’s also the off chance that one of our glut of LHD prospects could be ready for that role next season

How many NHL games has George played in his career?

I’m not trusting him with the keys to the car just yet.

I think Pelech is how they are going to clear some cap space IMO. George has played well but even beyond him is Odelius, Pulkinnen and Warren. I doubt we see Bolduc again and either will be guy they add to some deal or ends up in Europe at some point.
