The I hate everything about Lou brigade is out in full force. My lord.
because we know what will happen. Lou will sit on his ass again, not trading Nelson or Palmieri. He'll extend the two again in the summer and add next to nothing while assuring that everything will be fine if we are "healthy". This team yet again experiences more injuries next season but does *just* enough to not get a top 5-10 pick in 2026. This team is in a cycle of mediocrity and i'm tired of this fanbase defending it. Lou has reached his expiration date: move on.

And if Lou does make a trade, good. I want ownership to realize that this team is getting stale, and we need new blood in this lineup.

I was torn between liking your post, replying or just reading it and moving on. Your final exclamation led me to choice #2 so consider me a dissenter to your take.

Lou has hurt the franchise over the last 2 seasons and in my mind this TDL is his last opportunity to steady the ship. I’m not optimistic that he’ll choose that course.

Why don't you just wait and see what happens? The deadline isn't for another 4 days.

It's not all or nothing with Lou. You can compartmentalize things. He got the franchise the 2nd best coach it ever had. He got the team to play better than the sum of it's parts in 2 post-seasons. There was a modicum of respectability for this joke of a franchise. Since then Lou has stopped and reversed the forward progress the team had made, allowed the window to close by trading futures for role players and signing them to shitty contracts instead of being able to improve on the 2021 team. In a few days we'll see if Lou boxes himself in on picking up assets for 2 UFAs in their walk years or boxes himself in with them until they're 38 years old, or worse allows themselves to walk for nothing.

So yeah, the brigade is out in full force as they should be, because the potential he built from 2021 is long gone. 4 years ago in sports is a lifetime.

Who are you guys even yelling at? There are about 30 people on these boards and there might be a person or two who wants him to re-sign the UFAs and run it back.

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, the "we know what will happen" crew was wrong last year at the trade deadline when they assured us all that Lamoriello was going to trade the first rounder for help. There's stuff to criticize but I don't see the harm in actually waiting until he actually does the stupid thing before we freak out about it. Nothing we say or do is going to change things.

Probably bc the President of the Snow fan club, didn’t get his way, now the President of the Lou fan club, isn’t getting his way, and will probably piss and moan day one when a new GM is hired and a lot of people have just tuned this place out.

Agree with everything except the order of your best to worst TDL scenario.

For me the worst thing would be to resign either or both of the UFAs. Yes, even worse than letting them go for nothing. They’re both terrible options though.
