Lou re: Sorokin's amazing saves: "his athleticism is above average".

Lou is "Mr. Hyperbole".

If we do have Chris taking over, is it the worst thing that could happen?
I don't think anyone can answer that. We really have no idea what his skills or aptitude for this are since there's no way to separate his body of work for good or bad from the NHL GMs he's worked under. We just have to hope that if it does happen, Malkin makes the decision based on an accurate review of his ability to do the job and not based on nepotism from Lou. Though I'm also not as convinced as some others that it will happen.

I just don't know anymore. The direction of this team's future is uncertain. We're gonna miss the playoffs two years in a row despite being 9th in the east. We're close, but so far away from the talents that Tampa, New Jersey, Toronto, Boston, and the Rangers have. We need to have offense. We need a winger. I beg for a winger. I cry for a winger. But nobody comes here.

Maybe it's just the cynicism, but being an Islanders fan has taught me that nothing good ever happens, and anything nice will be ripped away from you. I'll enjoy what fun guys like Sorokin and Barzy bring, and once they're gone, then they're gone. Chris or whoever mans the team in 2024 will have to do something to make fans from not intoxicating themselves after watching them lose to the Coyotes at home 5-0

Lou rushed this roster, instead of building around the Barzal , Dobson , Beau group, he brought on middle aged to older group thinking the team was almost there. Game after game , this team gets out skated and out chanced due to lack of speed. I like Horvat but never considered him a scorer and contrary to many felt we made somewhat of a lateral move by giving up speed plus 2 good futures in the deal for a Good face-off guy .The problem I see here is we will have the same player age gaps as we move into the future where I feel 75 to 80% of your goto roster needs to be 25 to 28 as you make your cup runs

There is zero evidence to suggest that this will actually happen.

Two losses in a row? Right on cue....

The Isles have had their best stretch in their history since the early 80’s under Malkin as owner and Lou as GM. Took 30+ years to get someone to actually build a burbanite franchise a new arena (that would be the Malkin guy).

If Malkin wants to hire Lou’s son, then that’s on Malkin and it his decision to make. Malkin still has more to build on his project. I doubt Lou goes anywhere anytime soon.

Botta likes to rile up the fans when he see an opportunity to do so.

What does this have to do with 2 losses in a row, I'm hoping they make it but doesn't change the facts that its a primarily slower team that lacks scoring and now lacks organizational depth but let me guess, you were one of the "We are just 1 player away" group.

It has to do with your timing on when you repeat post the same damn thing you've been spewing all season. They get on a roll, you're MIA. They drop a couple and out you come with the "they're not good, they need to get younger, they need to rebuild", blah blah blah. You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but it's really unnecessary to take any and all opportunities to post the same damn thing over and over again. We're all well aware of your opinions regarding the state of this hockey club. Posting the same thing again and again and again and again doesn't make your opinion truth nor will it conjure your preferred path to success into reality.

If we are begging to fix Noah Dobson, Carson Soucy should arguably be an option we chase to replace Scotty next season. Could be a decent upgrade. Big boy, less penalty minutes, and probably can help him out on the defensive side of things.

Mayfield > Soucy

Dobson is still young and has a lot to learn- he needs to get stronger and bulk up at bit - off-season focus.

They cannot afford to spend $ on the blue line - they need low cost players - Aho and maybe a veteran signing like deHaan - they have Bolduc, Salo, and Odelius as potential options.

$ focus should go to the F group.

DeHaan ain't coming back here. I've honestly crossed him off mentally because of comments said. I think that Salo is gone also because he hates it down in Bridgeport. Bolduc should fight for a full time spot at least, and he isn't afraid of using the body.

Soucy i like from the idea that he can be capable of doing stuff in his own end, and his offensive numbers probably go up here on the island. But I get the objection from some people. This team has to be wise with its money spent either way. Hopefully they treat this offseason like 2014 and not like...2016

Pump the brakes - none of this has happened and you are off the deep end- get your feet back on the ground. There are lots to build on and like about this team.

Salo is not going anywhere - he has a contract and will be making 850k to play at b’port.

I hear you, the post wasn’t meant to beat them down when they lose. I“m hoping they make it in which would be huge considering the injury to Barzal but doesn’t change my feelings towards the makeup of the team. Ultimately we all want this team to be a bonafide contender but like you said, my perception of adding more speed and goal scoring might not translate into any more wins or championships than the current roster.
Lets hope we can extend this season past April 12th

I can see him getting moved in a deal to get rid of somebody off the roster.

Money has to be moved out in the offseason but with next to no picks it will have to be players added.

And IF the stuff based on Salo not liking Bridgeport is true, and the pace George is growing, then I can see Salo as expendable. This team has to clear cap space to improve the roster either way.

No Romonov still at practice. That is concerning. Barzal to me was always a prayer. If they get him back for the phi or MTL game I will be happy.

This was in response to an earlier post about him wanting to go back to Europe.

I can see him being moved to get another pick in this draft - I don't believe he has the prospect allure to help rid someone off the roster.

We will know more once the cap is set for next season.
I think the writing is on the wall and Bailey will be moved - how much it will cost we'll have to see.

Why should I feel positive given the past few offseasons?
Because if you don't the REAL Furio will pay you a visit

It's an easy buyout in the summer

Bailey is looking worse and worse, and not by the whole "bah he's our scapegoat", but actually him being a bad player. So many times where he just looks lost on ice.
