Lol, I know why players don't want to sit. I don't understand why teams don't shut them down. Oh no, now we have Wally Pipp AND Lou Gherig. The horror!

That requires the players to be open and honest with the trainers/doctors.

Might be an unpopular take, but I'd rather have Georgiev as the backup in the playoffs this season than Kinkaid.

Georgy is extremely unreliable but when he's hot, he's hot. I'd gamble on that in the playoffs in the event of a Shesterkin injury rather than have a consistently mediocre performer in Kinkaid. The team as it stands isn't good enough to go deep in the playoffs without star goaltending.

If you can get a useful player for Georgiev, you make the deal. Hes gone for nothing after the year and you can always add a guy like Halak or Greiss who would do a much better job in the straight backup role. Maybe even add Holtby if you want someone who can play for an extended stretch if needed.

Kind of wish we got eichel
Same but in the videos of him in practise I did think he looked off. May be over analyzing due to his injury so maybe it's a placebo effect but he looked very stiff. His neck wasn't curved in a natural way when he was skating and he seemed awkwardly upright, wasn't swivelling to look around, etc. Very curious to see how he plays tonight.

I don't see how they could move Georgiev and not find a way to bring in another backup in a different deal. Which means they would need to have a team really overpay for Georgiev to be worth it.

Who knows, maybe they are just floating his name out there in the media so that he and his agent will be happy down the stretch if he requested and really wants a move.

You know everything from personality testing to chiropracto.

Kravtsov for Lekhonen? The Rangers don't want to recreate the Andersson deal for a 2nd. The NHL exec made the comment in The Athletic article yesterday. Lekhonen is worth a 2nd as a rental. Kravtsov's value is a 2nd round pick. Lekhonen is a group II with arb rights this summer. How much will it cost to keep him beyond one more season? Lekhonen could be good for Kakko. A fellow countryman on the roster.

I can see this. Krav is an asset that’s not going to help this team on the ice.
Gorton and Bobrov picked krav. They should be able to give him a top 9 spot/time there.
Lehkonen is a good 3rd liner who ups his game come playoff time. He was instrumental in the habs cup run in the playoffs last season.
He’s a big body with decent wheels whose a good 5 V5 player and good on the forecheck.

He kind of always skated like that though

I think Lehkonen is a great fit for this team. He needs a new contract but it wont break the bank. He could potentially be the janitor on Panarin's line or be part of a really good matchup line with Blais & Goodrow going forward.

Agreed. If I’m Drury, I want 1 of Lehkonen or Connor Brown for kravtsov.
Both guys are signed Beyond this season. Both guys help 5v5 play and will help us in the postseason.

doubt vgk gives up a roster player. Maybe g for dorofeyev? Seems to be having a great first season in the ahl. Also helps nyr since they have a lack of center prospects

Prospect for Geo is something I’d do, more AHL ready just in case Berard decides to stay in school or does he go the Stepan route 2 years in school and then NHL?
